PHOTOGRAPHING GREAT SPOTTED WOODPECKER PART 1 - Wildlife & Bird Photography Vlog

I’m out filming woodpeckers again. This time I’m focusing on the great spotted woodpecker. The eggs have hatched and the parents are very busy feeding their chicks.
These field videos are my way of doing a small wildlife photography/ bird photography vlog where I take you behind the scenes and show you how I get my photos and what my thought process is like when photographing birds and wildlife.

That was fantastic Carsten. I was reading about woodpeckers earlier today and the book stated that these are quite common and widespread, yet I’ve never seen one. It was nice to get a clearer view of the female in your footage since the missing red neck ring was very obvious. I absolutely loved the image you showed at the end of the video with the male poised with a beak full of caterpillars - gorgeous. Thanks!
