Great little car but very expensive to fix.I had one and the clutch slave cylinder needed replaced. The part cost £47 pounds to buy and for the clutch replacement and slave cylinder replacement it cost £800 pounds. The roof stopped working and I went to the Renault specialist and was quoted £2300 for it to be fixed.
I owned an MGF for 8 months and loved driving it. The wind needs a 6th gear and more storage in the cabin. If it was mid engine and rear wheel drive it would have been a near perfect sports car.
I m thinking of getting one someday although I m satisfied with my current Swift RS ( a kind of Swift Soort available in Japan only with semiautomatic gear ( my wife chooses AT and I use M/T). But I have always wanted a two seater with a large luggage room . I envy you ! I wonder if the Gordini version is very different. Any clue ? Hi from Japan
Bought mine today, 23/4/24 collect next week, blue 1.2.Realy looking forward to lots of country lanes.
Congratulations on a wise choice of car.
I would be interested in how the 1.2 dodgers in driving over my 1.6.

It shouldn’t be. Most parts are Twingo and Megane and easy to obtain; but there are clueless garages who don’t know that and order parts from abroad.
they just dont make cars like this in 2023!
This car would have been great with a mid engine and a rear wheel drive!
