- The combined pipers and drummers of Saanich Peninsula Pipe Band, 443 Squadron Pipe Band and 78th Highlanders Pipe Band played in the Nov 11 Remembrance Day parade in Sidney BC, on Vancouver Island. It was very windy and a few degrees above freezing but sunny and a special event this year. You'll see the "organized" start to the parade, then on to playing short gigs at two veterans gathering spots in town. What you'll see is pretty much life in the band!
An absolute tribute of the Sydney Parade at a key and critical time for Canada. Well done, and I saw something I never new existed a West Coast Native Poppy - so few realize many of the First Nations across Canada signed up and fought in World War 1; and at the time they were not even recognized as citizens of Canada. Extremely well done. Thank you
I love the pipes. I live in Langford and stumbled on your post here through a search for quad's - I would love to play in a pipe band one day. is there an easy way to find out more? I am a drummer with 20 yrs experience, but never in a pipe band.
Pipe bands need drummers, they are the backbone! Contact Saanich Peninsula Pipes and Drums, we'll talk!
