    It is not a homeless problem, it is a drug problem. You can’t give a home to a drug addict and think that will stop all issues. It won’t.

      No it won’t but it’s a step in the right direction. These people are human beings and they have a right to be clothed sheltered and fed. We need to open FREE rehabilitation centers that will keep addicts for more than 10 days. 10 days is barely enough time to get over the detox sometimes it can take even longer than that for people to fully detox, once a person is fully detoxed that’s when therapy comes into play and the rebuilding of one’s self to become a better person and relearn how to take care of themselves physically,mentally and spiritually.

That can help give them the courage to wanna rehabilitate bcuz now they have something to look forward too and also seeing that there's people in the world that cares about them. Regardless of the mistake they've made, no matter what color, we all are God's people and we all deserve a chance. God bless

      Even if OP does know the exact drug (and it is unclear that she even would), it is pretty irrelevant. Virtually any substance that can induce respiratory depression (most certainly including a ‘horse tranquilizer’) can cause hypoxia and lead to irreversible brain damage. It is unlikely the drug itself directly caused that level of damage.

For those that keep saying "they chose to do this" or "it's their own fault" clearly know absolutely nothing about opioid addiction. It literally changes your brain structure.. forever. Being from the rut town of Philly, and coming from generational drug addiction, and overcoming hard core drug use,, I am thankful to the Almighty I made it out alive and with a semblance of a whole mind. I've seen this for years, have many family members that succumbed to this epidemic, including my mother, father, closest aunt, 1 st cousin, several old friends and I have some walking dead and very damaged living family members. The depth and reach of this wicked scourge can not be understated. I had to leave Philly in the early 2000's or I may not have been here today. That part of town has been bad since I can remember, and when I go visit family in NE, its much worse now, its EVERYWHERE.

    My life experience is, that an addict always will stay an addict. If one is able to kick one habit, it`s just a addiction delayed. An addict will always stay vulnerable, easy to seduce and more likely to relapse, maybe with another drug or extremly bad behaviour. In the long run it`s almost impossible to live a normal life.
    So better never start using drugs.

      Well good thing your life is very sheltered and your experience limited then. Because many, many addicts still live a “normal” life. Not only that, but are successful. Wes Watson is an extreme example. Former addict turned multi millionaire. I’m a more average example. Was an addict using drugs until 24. Now at 40, I make over 6 figures a year and have a good life.
      You think the few hundred addicts living on the street is an example of “addiction”? Those are the super extreme cases. Most addicts are “functioning”. They have a house, a job, kids, etc. And live a “normal” life.
      What you consider “vulnerable” actually can be an asset. Many addicts funnel their “addiction” into a healthy behaviour. Exercise, a job, a hobby, a career, a passion, and are able to excel to a massive degree, due to their dedication to that thing
      Additionally, there’s plenty, plenty of people who aren’t drug addicts that still live lives that are far from “normal” and struggle to get by in life

    • @Day-ZDuke
      @Day-ZDuke ปีที่แล้ว

      @Øffgridglass very well said, and congrats brother, I wish you all the best and hope you can continue to succeed and feel fulfilled.
      And you’re absolutely right. For many addicts, it comes to a point where they are ready for change. They can’t live that way anymore. The pain of changing for the better, becomes easier than the pain of staying the same. But the great thing can be that they / we take the hard lessons learned through that life and apply it to our future
      When I quit abusing drugs at 24, it still took me until 30/31 before I was really “successful” and doing well. But the point is, it can be and is done by people all the time

    • @_RobBanks
      @_RobBanks ปีที่แล้ว

      u really want to know u should research how opioid addiction snowballs. its not that someone one day wakes up and decides to shoot up. or try fentanyl. its a daily progression that usually occurs as what appears to be the last resort to stay well. when someone is injured severely and put on strong opiates their brain chemistry changes. its a psychological and physical addiction. stronger than most any other thing. when that person stops taking the opiates their brain tells them they are dying. literally. and it feels like you are dying, physically. so they go score drugs. and when this happens and the pills arent available whether physically or monetarily they switch to heroin because its way cheaper and plenty more available. its a slow progression addiction. and unless u truly care to try to understand it you wont. its much easier to stay on the sidelines and judge.

      @@myleslong5584 yes the withdrawal of fentanyl and xylazine or fentanyl and benzos together is soooooo much more horrible than straight h. indescribable.
      its c crazy that this is all because of the 'war on drugs" . it used to be heroin and cocaine. then it was fentanyl and meth. now its carfentanil , tranq, benzos, and meth.
      we should just give some MD specialists the ability to prescribe them pure diacetylmorphine and pure cocaine. they are doing that in places like montreal vancouver and toronto. and it reduces disease. reduces death. reduces CRIME> DRASTICALLY> we need to end the war on drugs. but too many pockets are being line with hard cash because of the system that has been ccreated. it wont ever change now. too many people in the justice system and positions of power have personal disdain and hatred for the people , on top of their salaries. why does anyone have the right to tell another adult what they can and cant put in their body.
      we saw how many people believe they have the right to demand what someone does with their body with the PLandemic.

    I watched this expecting the addicts taking it up a notch with tranquilizer darts.
    Seriously though, there's something bigger as to why this just keeps getting worse. Look at the people running the city. Look even deeper. You will see that their pockets receive money somehow, some way for it.

      it's fucking genocide. It started with the afghanistan wars, the pill epidemic, gave way to heroin, gave way to fentanyl, now this. They intend to murder these people through systemic inaction.
      America doesn't need death camps. We just remove support from everyone who needs it, and they do it to themselves, to cope with the pain. Conservatives/neolibs worse than fucking nazis imo.

    The problem with stories like this is that every stake holder in the story has a motivation to exaggerate the problem. From the non profits who get the funding to the media who gets the hyped up story, the addict who gets the sympathy to the medical services, law enforcement and prosecution who is working to save humanity, you will never hear the complete truth. You will never hear a word that might minimize the issue in the least and, for that fact alone, you should be suspicious.

    It is not against the law to commit suicide which is what these lost souls are doing. It is against the law, however, to sell goods and services without paying taxes and that's where the battles to fight drugs should focus. Al Capone was untouchable for all of the crimes and murders he and his organization were known to have committed. It wasn't until they tried and convicted him for tax evasion on all of his ill-gotten goods that they were finally able to stop him. Help the addicts and prosecute the dealers and the organizations they work with as tax cheats.

    Love how the news only shows the liquid form of Xylazine- which implies the drug is being sold on it’s own, whereas they admit the Xykazine is being used to cut the drugs with - a powder form.
