If you get up over 6 species, they don’t compete, and start to work together, and the fungi will actually pass nutrients back and forth. The problem is, we don’t know enough yet, and it can only be done at a scale where I can afford to lose, and just graze it for beef gain. For me, it’s all about what I need as an organic grower, where the demand exists. It’s constantly adjusting because it’s so much better to plant what I already have sold.
The reason behind successful 60 inches row spacing for corn because corn is Tetra-carbon and requires more sun light; and to keep same population you need to apply 56 inches row spacing and 3 to 4 inches distance between each seed in the same row.
I would use 48inch no till drill. Cover crop should be annual rye grass, hairyvetch, sweet clover and other clover. Plant that the next day.
