I am a polyclay hobbyist and a nail art afficiando; so this is a win-win! Combining these two mediums is brilliant and opens up a world of exquisite possibilities! So many premade, imported nail art charms are lacking attention to detail. I also wanted to add that baby oil is a great inexpensive alternative to buying clay conditioner. I use it in my sculpting and it works the same! :) TFS
You can buy these clay products at Micheals as well as pigments you can add to them to make them shimmer or sparkle it up as much as you want. Just a thought as I’m not for ordering online if I can find them local because then you truly know what your getting and can return it hassle free if it’s not what you wanted. As well as buying local supports products made in your country and not others which I also think is important. It’s a great tutorial and I bet most wouldn’t have thought to use these products as they need to be baked but you can make several and reuse if possible as well as other things so very versatile product. I love it.

A ceramic tile from the hardware store is usually less than $2 and you can stick it in the oven with your pieces on it it'll help regulate the temperature around your piece and in your oven. Giving you an even bake
Thank you so much for sharing!! This is a game changer, I've been working with acrylic and they are beautiful, but petals start breaking, I bought me some from hobby lobby will be trying them this weekend🤗🤗
I love this! Not even so long ago I mentioned that I did did little Fimo embellishments on the nails (and many other things with it in that time) in the time that Fimo clay was totally it 😊 I guess it was 20 years back! How fantastic to see that you put in a lot of research between all the different types of polymer clay. But when you told all of that something popped up on me.. how much it looks and is being used like the poly gel/ many other brands of gels that are coming up as we speak.. that was just a observation 😊 But the nail turned out to be so beautiful.. completely build in levels with embellishments that mix and match just right 🤗 Love it!
Thank you very much...I'd seen the Fimo slices used in nail art but it wasn't until I was lamenting the fragility of making thin petals with 3D gel that my friend Angela told me to try polymer clay....now I'm obsessed with what I can make in miniature for the nail. I have a lot of polygel/acrygel but it just isn't firm enough, at least not for making such smooth paper thin petals.
I love your chanel. You are amazing and so talented.I believe everything you do,you do it perfect.Τελειομανής - Hellenic, that means perfect maniac. I've learn so much from you.Thank you so much.
Hi!! Nice video i love this technique. Do you prefer polymer clay to do realistic roses charms? I have some dudes about what techniques it's best for me. I work with 3d gel from mia secret but the roses are very fragile. Please i need some advice 🙏
Amazing! I am looking for a solution for 3d gel with roses like you shared if it is so thin, it will be broke. This one is more flexible. It is really useful. Thank you so much. ❤❤❤
As a polymer clay artist I would not recommend sculpey III. After curing it is a very brittle clay. As you mentioned it is also way too sticky for making miniatures. There are some brands not sold in American craft stores that you could order online that would work way better than anything we have here. Cernet is the best for making flower petals. But if you can't or don't want to make an online purchase FIMO is probably your best bet
I love your videos and I love your nail art I'm learning a lot thank you so much my question is are your own Nails press on sets or are they acrylic because your designs are so perfect I don't know how you do it on your own hands I'm very curious
Thank you! My nails are not press on...sometimes they are acrylic, but lately I use the Apres Gel X system. I do the nail art after my nails are applied ...years of practice makes painting with my non-dominant hand easier, plus I'm semi-ambidextrous.
@@tenlittlecanvases I just got saviland 3D sculpting gel, do you think the same technique could be used with that? Btw wonderful video! These roses are exquisite! You always do an amazing job!
Wow it is so nice to see you.♥️ Your videos are my favorites. I really love your artistic eye. Your compositions are always gorgeous and rich. Thank you for sharing with us. Did you bake on a regular sheet pan?
Thank you so much! Yes, I bake on a sheet pan, usually on the back of a fork...the smaller buds (with pointed ends that I don't trim) fit in between the tines to keep them upright. I've read that placing pieces on a tile on the baking sheet can help with even baking and prevent burning the clay.
these are gorgeous!! you're so helpful and very informative when you make your videos and usually answer your questions before i can even ask. thanks so much for sharing your wisdom with us! i do have one unanswered question: do these break easily?
I haven't had a chance to wear these yet...I'll let you know. I will say these are are definitely stronger and more durable than the 3D gel modeling gel, which breaks very easily the thinner you make it.

i bought some of the sculpey premo based off of the reviews of clay artists on the internet. let's hope it works. i tried out my first rose and it was... a rose but i know it needs more practice. i'm definitely going to see if they last.
Love this idea I have watched your 3d gel rose so many times and I'm still struggling to make a rose I tried to shape petals on my hand with drops of water I can do the rose buds then it goes down hill and looks nothing like a rose or flower when I did it on my hand I must be allergic as my hand and fingers came up very red and bumps and so itchy too tried with gloves and the stuff kept sticking to the stuff. I really want to make some roses for my nails any help/advice from you would be greatly appreciated I love your work and you make AMAZING flowers and nail art hope you will respond to my question when you get the chance hun 😀😀
I know that some people experienced some contact dermatitis using the gel on the skin, so for sure avoid doing that. That's what makes the polyclay a great alternative as it's a non-toxic product and is intended to worked with your hands. With the roses, sometimes less is more...I usually start with the bud, place 2-3 small petals around the bud, then add 4-5 medium size petals around those. I overlap the petal about 1/3 to 1/2 into the previous petal. Hope that helps.
I hardens by baking the charms in the oven...the baked clay still has a little flexibility so it shouldn't break as easily as the thin 3D gel. I haven't had a chance to wear these yet. I'll have to let you know.
Yes. bake in the oven on a baking sheet...I bake my charms on the back of a fork (smaller buds fit between tines to stay upright) so they are not directly on the pan, this will help prevent burning the clay.
It's not very durable for a nail charm and everyday wear. The one flower I made with it was accidentally dropped on the floor after baking and several petal broke off. One clay I did not have yet at the time of this video was PARDO, it was the strongest and most durable of all the others but it's not the easiest to find in here in the States.
