1, 2, Gold, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 is 9 chests. I count out the normal ones because there is only one gold per map and there are more than one of the normal

There are 8 normal chests and one gold chest. I count out the normal chests and state gold when showing the gold. 8+gold will get you to 9 in Oak Town
