The fact that almost all duels were won or lost because of hand traps leaves a really bad taste tbh.
That's the vast majority of decks in master duel hand traps determine the game
unfortunately that is just salad. it really isnt too good by itself. jk. a good hand getting you 2 field wipes, 1 negate, 1 pop, and a draw, along with a one card combo for the next turn is crazy but somehow isnt enough to consistently win without handtraps. feelsbadman

Remember, Sam did said you are welcome to change whatever you want to the deck of your own version and fitting to your play style. However, you need to understand that hand traps is how you keep your opponent from combing where you can't play or a chance to win. Hand traps I discovered made yugioh very interactive.
You either run handtraps or go up against a board with 5 negates

@@normanbrady Yeah it just seems to me like it does what every deck does just takes a little bit longer but not as long as mathmech/dragonlink and has obvious choke point.
But looks like a pretty fun deck which to me is what matters and I pulled the extra deck cards when getting Horus so will prob make it one day

Making a in depth guide of a deck just to misplay on first game is crazy
this Video is definitely NOT an in Depth guide LOL. Read the title... it does not say in Depth Guide and there are SOOO MANY combo lines in this deck and different version of the deck, sam didn't show in this Video so this is not an in depth guide for sure.
No Lady Debug lines, no cyberse Wickid, line, No 60 card lists, you can even play combos with spright elf protection or make Barone in the Deck as well. some combos in the Deck can search for Ash blossom as well and all these things he didn't show.

Played a salaman deck earlier in ranked with my pendulum odd eyes and LET ME TELL YOU when you go second and every card you throw down gets negated EXCEPT the last card you have and then you misplay….. absolutely depressing 😭
Salad was the deck I used to get back into yugioh. Hadn't played since before link monsters existed. Taught me allot but it's also a good deck for experienced players too

It's kinda funny how well Salamangreat Link monsters can work as generic Fire support, though you typically only see Sunlight Wolf and Raging Phoenix used for that. Also being able to loop Ash Blossom never stops being hilarious.

Ay yo my boi Soul Burner on one of the coolest thumbnails I've seen.
Been playing this a lot recently, pretty awesome deck. I run charge over the rage trap and 3 debug with 1 of the salad of fire. Charge is really good, it makes your end board a lot more resilient and lets you grind endlessly by recycling everything back into your extra deck and getting charge back every turn with wolf.
I think debug is a much better starter if you have any other starter cards or extenders in your opener, I keep 1 SoF to search with stallio if you need it. Feels a lot better to end on little knight. I have the terror top package in there too. TT is a good enough starter by itself and it really raises the celing of your combos. If you open will, TT and a starter you can usually end on pyro, a full 3200 apo and little knight. Its disgusting when you get it.

One huge thing you missed, that can be the easiest combo ever. Is to pop your raging pheonix with princes. Then bring back your other one at 5600. With it's own effect. Sometimes you need that damage.

In the first combo, would it make sense to use the field spell to relink Sunlight wolf? Get back either roar so that it doesn’t banish itself and gives you more recursion down the road or get back the circle in the case of your example. I just see you activate the code of soul then not utilize it, so that way you maximize your options.
I feel your pain sam been there many times where I want to go first but lose most the coin toss. And then they have everything they need to counter. And then if I go first times I get crap hand or they just have everything to counter me. So if I know I’m not going to win going second I just surrender cause I’m not watching combos for long time.

A good deck I think is ritual dark magician along with pankratops and raigeki to board while while bring out the ritual then interrupt there important plays

Tbh i always end up with 3 boss Salad rage, 4 negate apollo and link 3 Reichkart whatever his called to protect apollo with salad roar and rage set or impermanence or 2 hand traps, you can also instead or the Reichart make sp and masquerina

So from my experimentation with this deck. I would take out sprite sprind and another link to run appo and ip. Now that I terrortop is at 3, you can get a ip on board using it and tatatomborg and still go for the baseline combo. At worst, the 3 terrortop and 1 tatatomborg don’t hurt the deck or the combo. At best, you get everything plus a near or full power appo with destruction protection.
You need to play Mementos the deck actually plays well with the Horus lines

The very first duel, you should have used both baleynx to make a wolf, and then used spinny to trigger wolf, and then went princess.

With that one card combo explanation at the beginning, wouldn’t have been better to search for a different card than gazelle since you already had one? Add a roar or rage instead to make the hand more optimal. I guess for combo sake that might throw people off but still.

Sam forgeting you can get a free soul charge with will after summoning Phoenix with sanctuary. The combo is good but not optimal, and you dont need to run 3 spinny or Baylynx if you manage your resources right. Everything else though aside from that is solid i personal play lady d bug as my preferred normal summon. Can also bait out ash with cynet mining if you have a salsa card ready to summon and link off. Correction he did mention the soul charge good on you Sam, the sprind link summin before getting out sunlight wolf again was also solid. Sam didn't miss play this deck has so many diffrent lines to get into its negates, disruptions, and the big kaboom its sometimes hard to navigate.

Tbh I run Salmangreat at 60 cards the problem with the deck Sam built is it doesn’t have enough extenders I put balancer Lance, lady debug and of course salamangreat of fire in the deck the rest of the salmangreat card have activated effects once a salmangteat link hits the field and grave allowing to play through hand traps including Nimberu the only downside is it can’t counter Nib but if you have Prometheus in the graveyard when you get Nib it allowed her to special summon and you can continue to link summon and special summon with a link monster on the field this deck is better off going second not first I did face off against snake eye and it did its thing it held up nice even when linking off to Apolosa after borrelsword and Baron use their negate just have call by the grave in the hand to stop Prometheus in the grave and you can safely play through negates but definitely get the K.O this deck can defend but not as good as snake eyes
I saw a couple of other comments mentioning it but to explain for the first game: the correct way to sequence that hand was to:
1) Normal summon Spinny
2) Link 1 into Balelynx (search sanctuary)
3) Special Meowmine from hand (since a link monster is on the field or graveyard)
4) Link meowmine off for a second balelynx
5)Link 2 into Sunlight Wolf
6) Special Summon Spinny (do not activate Sunlight Wolf)
7) Make Princess and attempt effect
What this means is that when the opponent veilers the princess, you can activate Will of the Salamangreat to summon back a Balelynx and then keep comboing. The deck has a lot of small things that add up to a lot when playing it so I don't blame Sam for missing that one sequence since he doesn't play decks with Meowmine in them.

wait why would you link into a 2nd balynx ? I can understand the wolf cause you might want a link 2 later in the combo but 2nd balynx is just a waste
@@ayham613 Sunlight wolf takes 2 fire effect monsters. Baelynx is a fire effect monster, but Meowmine is not. You'd have to link into something else so you had 2 fire effect monsters. What would you link into instead?

@@Valkyrie-Kain yes, it would have, but he added the Gazelle to showcase what one of the deck's one-card combos are. If you watch that combo and imagine that the only card he starts off with in his hand is Salamangreat of Fire, then it makes sense why he added Gazelle.

I think called by the grave and cross out need to be ban bc a one card can literally end the duel. Hand traps need to resolve in order to at least make the duel more interesting.

Just started playing this deck from messing with structures on duel links way back. You can play this deck with completely just Salamangreat extra deck (but still Princess😅) note; I see a lot of ppl play only one code soul but playing 3 n only 2 spiny n 2 great fire I think is more consistent.

As a Salamangreat player myself. I want to start with Foxy, Gazzel and Curse. Foxy is highly underrated in my opinion. It’s an extra search for spell + can destroy a face up s/t. Broken against continuous and field s/t
yeah for me Foxy is mandatory nowadays since some decks still running flootgates like skill drain and without foxy these cards can be really hard to out in other ways but with foxy you can deal with these cards.

Whereas if he had lady debug in the deck like he is supposed to. He would be able to end on a wolf, pyro, and a powered up raging at 5k attack. From a one card combo.
If he had gazelle as well in hand then he could have ash in hand as well. From a two card combo.
Plus not having charge when it allows you to loop code of soul over and over again so you can nuke your opponents board every turn.
