Been watching for a year now and seeing old packs is always a rare treat! 👍
I started pokemon back when it came out; was opening all the original sets up until after team rocket. Had no idea i was opening future gold that i ending up losing.
And you are right; back in the day you would go into any convenience store or mom and pop video game store and walk up and grab packs you wanna get right out the box on the counter. Packs were $3-$4 and foodtown had a vending machine with $1 mystery pokemon singles and all the og packs for $4
I love vintage pokemon. Makes you think how far we have come and also makes you think that the sword and shield era will be vintage one day😂
It would be nice to find something like that in store nowadays!

To be a kid again…going to the mall, checking out the arcades, always stopping at kb toys, electronics boutique, eb games, radio shack. Getting a pretzel from Bavarian pretzel or pretzel hut and an orange Julius. Nowadays that stuff is nearly extinct everything is simply easier to buy online or play virtually.

Love watching the vintage stuff being opened. I had my own vintage collection from the 90s when Pokémon first released here in Canada. Sadly, they were stolen by an ex and I know they didn't take care of them. Sadness.

I was the book manager at Hastings for so many years. I was the "trainer" for the store. We got 3 free packs of whatever we wanted each week to use for the events every Saturday.
Wish I still had my cards.

My Dad would take me and my brother to the local movie rental place and we'd get a pack every Friday we were with him for the weekend. It was such a fun time and understand the nostalgia. It's so easy to just order cards online now and not have to visit an actual store. I love buying booster packs and cards in person when I can, so much more fun!

I never had the chance to get vintage stuff from stores closing down or anything, it was all stuff i kept as a kid. Pretty cool you foresaw all of it or was that into Pokemon or childhood 90's stuff in general you just couldn't help yourself and needed to do it tbh.

Great video! I worked at Walmart when Pokémon came around our area and bought my boys a couple packs a day after work. Was about $2.97 best I remember. They still have most of them. Nice memories. Thanks for sharing!
