Keep at it until you know it's over. I'm 75 and went out on Kentucky Lake yesterday with my 11, 12 and 13 year old grandkids who never fished with a spinning reel nor with lures. Had a great day. 1 crappie lol

I remember Larry Nixon getting the video of the biggest bass caught in a tournament. That was so cool back then.
Went out today & threw the ER16 from Gambler lures for 4 hours. Had a few chasers, one pop off but got skunked. Seen no fish jumping today. So off course I spent the last 15 of sun light & 45 mins in the dark throwing a big black double Colorado blade spinnerbait & a Plopper 75 & 90. Big skunk session. It was beautiful out. Never a bad day on the water

So after getting very similar results as you I started fishing my glide baits so much faster. because I kept getting follows but not commits. After fishing it fast I started getting a lot more commits. Good luck Randy love the videos as always
I feel like there is a lot of truth to that in theory. Take away the basses chance to get really good eyes on it and make it a split decision. I like it.

I had the same problem at my local pond. Downsizing and speeding it up blow them helped, but they get wise in packs. Best of luck

My fishing didn't go as planned today either... Last night I checked my local weather and realized everything was going to set up perfectly for your formerly secret tube popping technique. So I rigged up and hit the banks this morning (my boat's in the shop)... Nothing on the tube. But my enthusiasm for it kept me going, and I got a decent Largemouth and battled a pike for my spinnerbait. If I didn't have to cut it short and go to work today, I would have loved to keep popping that tube in different spots.

Your absolutely right, don't be bummed out bc getting that much action in one day on big baits is an accomplishment itself. Seriously. Sucks when you can't figure out that last little bit of info you need to hook up with them. It could of been anything and its hard to know in cases like that. They could of been hittin it with there mouths shut, the color of the bait could be turning them off when they get close, the size of the bait could of been just a inch too big, I mean its really hard to know but when you do figure out that last little thing man it makes for a really fun day especially when there is money on the line.
Don’t feel bad, the same thing happen to me on Chickamauga Thursday. The Topwater was supposed to be still hot. I go out throwing frogs in the grass most of the day and nothing. I moved down river an wound up with one nice fish caught on a Shallow running square bill. I wish now that I had thrown the crank bait all day. It is always hit or miss on certain days.

Randy the day didn't go as you had planned but your execution went perfect look at how many fish came up to your baits, how's the old saying; you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink, and one more thing I admire how you deal with the haters you don't give them a platform you are a gentleman 👍

I would have put the big lures down and gotten my limit filled out in whatever way I needed to. To do anything else is just stubbornness. I think that is the biggest hurdle faced- not the damn live scoping. Not getting at least a limit makes you look worse than thinking you can out-stubborn the bass. Not a hater- just being honest.

Our SC lakes are so full of bait sometimes it’s difficult to get the fish to commit. Bass are being conditioned to be very cautious about slower moving baits that don’t have much action, Bass in our lakes get caught by Reaction reflex, there not overly hungry so you got to find what trips there trigger, and with Bass fishing that’s the 8th wonder of the world, what to throw, and how to work it!
Somewhere on the Lake, someone caught fish, somehow!

I have done that. It’s like fishing a 12” worm. You are hoping on a small window for big bass. Amazing how many 2 pounders you will catch on that. Not sure why they hate you. Pulling for you Randy. I guess because I followed you and the early years of BASS I got to pull for my old school guys.
You are an inspiration to us Randy. I just wonder if switching to something a little smaller like a 3" Rapala or something similar-either fished slow or burned thru the water might have triggered them? But I am just thinking out loud. Never give up.

Been watching your videos for a couple weeks before I realized how many years I’ve been seeing the Dodge with the Bridgford wrap all over it! Pretty sure I saw it at Sunshine and westbypass the other day and part of the wrap had fell off! Think the last time was the Walmart parking lot in Monett. Ashamed how long it took me to realize that! 🤦♂️

I was out there today, they would not bite a fluke, Hartwell’s best bait. Ended up wit 5 for 9.45lbs, bite was TUFF

I was fishin lake barkley about a week ago and we were throwin glide baits off of secondary points. No action, but the signs were there. We dont have livescope or side imaging or anything remotely close in nature, plus the water clarity is terrible, so we couldn’t tell if we were gettin any follows at all. But we would chop em back, straight retrieve and real wide glides just mixing it up. Nothin. But like i said, the signs were there. We put the glide baits down and threw aome swim jigs and got absolutely lit up. Size and everything. We went thru throwin the swim jig throughout the day obviously. But unless we threw those glide baits out first we wouldn’t get any action at all. I truly believe they’re what got those bass fired up ready to eat. They weren’t ready to commit to the bigger glide bait, but when presented w the smaller profile and less aggressive action it was a shark attack. Bought those swim jigs through your link as well 👍
Randy, as a fan of your techniques I'm a little disappointed that you didn't switch to a Zara spook style topwater. Sometimes you seem reluctant to change baits when it appears to be in your best interests. Sorry you had such a bad day. Don't let the live scopes run you off. Your intuition will pay off. On the other hand, if you can't beat them....join em! Good luck and thanks again for all the fish catching tips!

Hey! You got day 2 big bass. You went out and slung that glider around all day. You fished competitively this year. So think about a couple tournaments for next year to key on. I've not seen the open schedule for next year. Hopefully there is something in North Carolina somewhere near Charlotte. I was digging and looking you do well in that area (just saying). I hope to see you out next year....

Well people that watch weigh ins would know that an angler has to present his big fish. Well I watched the weigh in and Randy had one fish so it's automatically weighed in as a big fish. The guys that had big bags didn't weigh there big fish, so Randy had big fish lol.
I get where you coming from here. It says in the rules that one fish weighed is also a big fish entered.
Randy, you should have ran up the Tugaloo and fished shallow like you do so well. I do respect how you went all in with big baits though, I hate you didn't do so great bud.. Take care.

Just got back from fishing today. Caught 15 Sand Bass with 13 throwbacks!! 2 keepers out of 15 fish. I immediately thought of Randy and his tournament experience. Everybody's a "Monday Morning Quarterback" until their in that situation. I threw EVERYTHING I had to stop that dink onslaught. Nothing worked.

Did you switch up colors a lot to try and figure out a trigger and make them commit? I'm sure you probably did from so many years of experience. Just wondering since I didn't hear you mention it.
Glide baits are like any other bait, If on a glide bait bite I have several types and sizes on. maybe they didn't want the I-slide maybe a sneaky pete, deps, s-waver...etc
