The target audience for the kit seems to be those with more money than time. For them it's worth paying some serious coin for off the shelf mundane gear in a Gucci box. $100 and a 5 gallon bucket with lid would be a great start. Then toss in the remaining $95 in gear and you're all set. Oh, maybe get a survival book as well. You know, just in case.
I have to agree. I do the 5 gallon bucket systems in my pantry for non perishable food and rotate them out. I can get a couple weeks of food in one bucket. Then like you said. Hiking bag and stuff the gear. Fire starters, water filtering etc. and one could very easily survive in the wild for a while. Hell Ive done it on e hell of a lot less.
Tailoring your own is definitely the better option if you know what you're doing. And if you don't know what you're doing, then the kit probably isn't going to be much help. Most of the pre-made kits tend to be lacking in one regard or another.

No. The cost has the effort and time factor of someone else doing all the work for you. Reviews forget that. Nice video keep them coming.
Right on! 100% on point. As a former FMF corpsman I'll tell you that you can build your own med kit for under $20 at Wal-mart or target that will be far superior to these pre-packed kits. With the exception of the tourniquet of course. Grab those on sale at North American Rescue.
I'm surprised about their food choice too. Good review. It seems like a decent kit for someone that's not a survivalist and doesn't want to think about building their own
Nice review. I really like the box, like you, I can do without all the branding. Remember, this isn't for the person that wants to do all the research and buying all the various pieces. This is for the person that has money and wants to know that they at least have something in their closet or vehicle.
I really enjoy your reviews in general. It’s refreshing to see honest reviews that occasionally criticize products. Sometimes high prices are justified, sometimes they are not. Thanks. Keep up the good work.
Another advantage I see in your bag vs that box. Portability. Ok what happens if you have to hoof it. That box will be a pain in the but to lug around. You have the bag, with shoulder straps. Throw it on and go. Trade off with someone to give yourself rest. That box was all about branding. Yeti and Uncharted pasted on everything. Give me a hiking bag any day and I can stuff the crap out of it and survive a lot longer than that box will provide. Great, honest review sir!
This is an awesome review. I truly hope it reAches the right people who are looking for kits and realize it’s no where near worth it. Honestly, you give someone about a month to find sales and they could put together a kit extremely similar to this for I would even venture around 300 dollars.
It's a pretty box but I prefer to make my own survival kits with items I have actually used or will be using in the future. You have to train with your gear to know if it's solid, works for you or if it is needed in your kit. Buying a kit like this and toss it in the closet would be a fail in a real crisis.
So about 175 dollars worth for 699 dollars? Great review and I agree with you on hand warmers and hygiene The case is plastic? A bear will toss it and smash it open in seconds Make sure it is charcoal for the N95 not graphene. Graphene on the mouth is a bad, bad thing Yes you should have a bottle each. Fail that Sawyer are fairly useless. 4 basic life straws would have been better
Great video! The contents of the box were good stuff, I mean there are boxes with crappier gear and higher prices...I agree just too expensive... My usual recommendations to my friends is just "buy stuff you want in your box or bag but use them"... By the time you're proficient at using them you'll have a great bug out bag or whatever.... But the skills you'll have will be the real tools.
Very good video Bro, I always say show the people the truth, these boxes are nothing more than cash grabs, most of your survival gear you can pick up at the dollar store, you can make your own shelters out of what nature has laying around , fire is easy to make and there are cheep ways of getting or making your own fire starters, you can make your own MRE'S at home with a vacuum machine , and just remember get wool blankets or good sleeping bags, you only need shelter if its raining or snowing, other that that you CAN sleep outside , you wont melt or die
*Everything 4 People need to survive 72 Hours:* Clothes they are wearing, preferably appropriate to weather. 2 20oz bottles of water each. Thats actually MORE than is ABSOLUTELY Necessary but 72 hours is really not that long and unless you are caught in extreme weather of some sort and assuming you will be provided water after 72 hours the human body really doesn't need ANYTHING to LIVE for that period of time. This is why Skills will always trump Gear no matter the situation. O.o
Your video was very informative for me, and was presented well(what follows is a opinion only of the survival kit not the channel or reviewer). They are branding this as basically a 72 hour kit for 4 people, but water is so terribly important. I live in Arizona, and can see a person buying this "Off the Shelf" kit for their 4 special people and possibly bad things happening. 4 people in summer desert needs a lot(!@#$ ton) of water--Injuries, Health, Age, Medical conditions increase those minimal needs. And finding a water source may not even be possible in some areas. I understand weight is a issue for kits, but there should be enough water for survival of 4 people 72 hours without resupply/gathering/scouting(at least if they call are it a 4/72 hour build)? Guessing this is a vehicle or home kit as I don't see anyone lugging a Yeti case around, so the water bottle is a adorable/solid canteen but not enough. As a outdoorsman and retired Paramedic from rural Arizona this kit appears lacking in a glaring way concerning water in regards to desert. Hopefully kit specifically informs person to supplement for the location of use and time of year(bug repellant anyone?). I'm not from the Cold north so I will leave that observation of the kit to neighbors way up North. Just a humble opinion of a grumpy old man. Your review was legit, I'll start watching this channel. Peace all, happy prepping from Arizona.
I think the lesson to take away is that no one kit is going to suit all environments, situations, or locations. That would probably be impossible. So even if you buy a pre-made kit, you have to at least modify it to fit your own specific needs. A person in Canada is going to have to worry about warmth a lot more than a person in Arizona, and a person in Arizona is going to have to worry more about water than a person in Canada. A single kit isn't going to cover both people equally well. For as much as I like these pre-made kits, I often find that it's better and mor cost effective to put one together yourself. You can fit your own personal needs better that way. Plus, everyone should be tailoring their kits not just to their environments, but to the specific trips they're going on.
They should have a "warm" and "cold" option. Not only water but also the beanies are suboptimal. Like you said for desert you need minimum 2 pumps, 2 or 4 bottles and some water purifikation tablets. Some hats with shade for the neck and sunscreen 50.
I also loved the box itself, looks really sturdy. They could cut costs if they didn't need to brand every single item. At least not in an expensive way. Also, the way they branded the multitool was in a way that I think it was the most expensive, and unnecessary too. They could have just put stickers on it or used a simple laser surface engraving. Totally agree with you, way overpriced. Liked the channel, subscribed.
Such kits are for people ain’t caring more about kits than buying one big unit, I didn’t even expect those to put just one item extra into that yeti box and for those people whats inside you could survive 72h if you really need to. Not bad.
Totally agree on price. The comment I see often is that you are paying for someone to plan and assemble this kit, which has never won me over. They plan this once and then spit them out on a production line, your buying in bulk and that usually affords you a discount. In my opinion you would do better buying someone's bug out bag list on amazon.
Seems pretty laughable for $700!😲😂😂😂 I agree just the Yeti case is 20-25% of the price. I'd rather get a $20 tote at Home Depot and fill it will more & better stuff. For $250 it would be a decent foundation to build on.
I would say go to Harbor freight by one of their pelican style cases and go from there. The problem I see with most off-the-shelf 72 hour kits is there not the best quality for as much as they charge for those things. As far as food i would put MRE‘s or even Mountainhouse meals. As far as putting something in a rolling case Rubbermaid make some pretty good pack out containers they may not be the most weatherproof but you can weatherproof the items inside
I have 4 bags 1 per person in my family each is a 511 rush 72 and each bag is a standalone bag so if we get separated no one is missing equipment they may need. much much better quality gear than in that box IE: ka-bar black tanto, wire saw complete first aid kit with surgeon kit sawyer mini water filtration kit. and much more each bag will support 1 person for a min of 72 hrs and didnt cost me over 400 per bag. I have a truck box as well that stays in our jeep at all times its packed with more food water and ammo
Go to Stealth Angel Emergency kits you can get emergency kits over 50% off what Uncharted Supply wants to give. Items might be a bit different but for the savings you can add to the kits. In a real 72 hour emergency who would want to carry that Yeti case around?
I agree. I feel companies like this one and others are only interested in making a profit off this whole survival/ scamdemic / end of times bs I prefer my own kits. These kits are way overpriced and for the most part not practical. A survival kit is what you have on you at the time you need to survive. Awesome video. New subscriber
I love the honest review. I laughed through this video at the contents, and I almost soiled myself when you said the price! Holy crap! Did the guy who designed and price this get fired?! I agree. I can and have put a way better kit than this. Oh, and I probably saved $500.00. Great video. Thank you!
I think these premade 72 hr kits like uncharted or rhino can be decent but i mean key words are 72 h, now im more of a micro prepper(macro, meso, micro we all start from micro and im new to prepping) Thank you sir for your service! I plan to join when im older, i think your past skills would be very helpful
Thanks for sharing this brother. I agree, it's not worth the price tag. I have bugout kits from My Medic and I wish they had customization options when buying. It would make a huge difference if for example you can assemble on site for specific situations like trauma or food etc.
Got to love the comments "I could put vetter kit for half the price". I agree. Also you could cook stake at home for half the price you pay in the restaurant. If you can cook eat at home. Don't complain about prices on the menu in restaurant. :-)
yeah i have just never been a fan of premade kits like this... to keep the cost down and to make sure they still have a high margin of profit they cut so many corners in quality and selection of items. you could put stuff together for cheaper and for much more, but at least it would likely be gear you know and trust and mixed with stuff you should already have (eg hats gloves etc). for folks who have nothing and aren't into preparedness yet or who are just starting and overwhelmed by the cost of alllll the things... it might be an okay buy to start with and then heavily supplement, but yeah... anyway, thanks for sharing. i haven't seen your 4 person bag video, i'll go check that now ;)
Love the box. I would skip everything else and build my own kit containing 12 freeze-dried meals or MREs. Those Datrex bars are great for supplemental calories but would be terrible for feeding a family of four over 72 hours. One good, hot meal per person per day goes a long way in terms of energy and morale.
Yeah.... I have this Yeti box in my Jeep Family camping kit for our kitchen setup. However their branding and the items bringing it up to $700?!? Crazy
When I first started "prepping", I didn't know anything. I bought 3 expensive bug out bags for me and 2 of my sons that live with me. My oldest son already has his bug out bags for his family. Looking at the Uncharted box you reviewed, I know I have much better stuff for less than that box. Not counting the bags that I bought. If I knew then what I know now I would have done differently. But all in all my bags are much better equipped if the need arises for me and my sons to have to bug out. Honestly, unless things in my area were real bad, I would just bug in. I have plenty of extra stuff to support us for quite awhile.
I’d buy the box and build it my way if anything. That way you have gear that you trust. Btw where is the Mylar? Where is the ponchos? Where is the shelter? You can go buy Mylar ponchos and tents. Hell a m-tac poncho turns into tent. And anything that you eat and it says to limit your water intake is trash .
It seems like a good layout, especially if you don't want to create your own kit. $700 though you can buy the Yeti Go Box and fill it with much better items plus you can cover your redundancies, which this box seemed to lack. You'd definitely want to add a few items when you receive this. I'd like to know what's inside their FAK. I didn't see a TQ and that would be the first thing I'd want in there for this layout. It does seem that most aspects are covered here though but I'd still much rather build my own kit. The Yeti Go Box, even at it's price, is a phenomenal idea, just make sure you invite a 5th person on your journey to carry it. If I'd use the Yeti Go Box for anything, it'd be in the back of my vehicle.
I think the branding is a good idea, because great chance people will go to the survival kit for every day items, and a logo on the tools or supplies will be a quick reminder, that those items belong back in the survival Kit
For me it would be good for backup to all my preps or a truck kit too for traveling. The only thing is the price but those yeti containers are amazing and freaking love them. If you wanted a container to protect your gear especially on a long haul yeti is the way to go. Love the channel and your videos are outstanding. Keep them coming and thank you/family for your sacrifice to our country.👍🍻🥃👊🏼🇺🇸
I bought the go box because I like the yeti brand. But bought gear separately. Box was 250, I spent another 275 in gear and got way more stuff at a way better value.
Great Video! You should put together a real $700.00 for two people. In the same style as this. Including a box. Not a yeti, but a decent one that can act as a cooler as well. Use very dependable gear to give the user a better than average chance at surviving a whole week. Not just three days. And if it gets good feedback from the viewers. Sell it on your channel or webstore! Just a suggestion!
Good video. I agree with your assessment. Check out Nutnfancy's bug out bag. He has gone to the extreme, but is want for nothing, except the kitchen sink.
I think its good for someone who doesn't know where to start. Once they get a feel for things and the research gets done. Definitely could do better build and supplement the one they have. As far as cost just wait for a sale.
I honestly believe that yeti stuff is pretty indestructible. I got hit by a car on my bike and my water bottle was dead on where it hit and apparently it flung out into the air and landed on the tarmac because someone grabbed it for me, and it has a few scratched as one tiny little dent at the bottom. That water bottle has been through hell and back that's just one example that more so extreme to get my point across. Those things are tough.
One of the things that breaks me up is that these companies don't take into consideration mobility ability. I know some people will say " But they have back packs..." try hauling that 4 person bag you have if you are suffering from injury or infirmity. A Nanuk 935 is a good size box that could easily hold all this stuff and it can be towed on the wheels or carried. Just saying...
It's like all of these products, no - there won't be the value of items relevant to the cost because, as stated elsewhere, it's a company trying to make money! That said if you're not 'into' survival this would be an ideal kit for a group of 4 "off the shelf"!
Gucci survival kit, surprised it doesn’t come in different colors, with the logo available in shiny metallic. I do like the box, and as you said, money wise and practical survival, it is much easier to setup you own kit, but “you don’t know what you don’t know” is their market share . Other issue is; I wouldn’t want to hump that box around if I need to move from the vehicle AND this only works IF I’m in the vehicle or maybe weather disaster, short term kit. BIG drawback is the water requirement when eating the “food” bars, wow… More issues but I get what it was designed for, prior Mil background with survival and field operations skews my opinion. Thanks for the info, knowledge is always a good thing. Will check out your channel. Be Safe out there
A fool and there money are soon parted. The Yeti LoadOut GoBox 30 is $250 from there site, I like the box but not that much, for the same price i can get better from the commerical/industrial storage containers I.E. CEMbox. Pelican cases are cheaper and have much wider range of choice of sizes. Thanks for the video it was interesting. Take care, God bless one and all.
Im the target audience for this product! I have zero knowledge on anything survival and this is well documented and full with good equipment! Is it perfect? No! Could I get the same with the amount of effort I’m willing to put on a “rainy day” item? No! It’s balanced and sufficient for a noob to use it! I just wish it had less logos….
Very informative and well put together with your comments and opinions on the kit. Totally agree though that while it's a great box and some handy pieces of kit it's very overpriced
$700 for the box is significant. Technically the box will be in an auto or some type of mobile vehicle. The majority wont be lugging this box around. So being bear proof ? Isn't quite necessary if you live in an urban environment but i get it. I really don't see $400/500 worth in this box but that may be every persons individual opinion. Lots of branding i guess they could put more in the box if they spent less on the branding but i also get that. Enjoyed the vid.
Kitbashed Survival did a review of Uncharted's Seventy2 Pro. This is a much better buy, but... this is a Yeti plus about 1.8 Seventy2 Pros. It isn't a "base camp", despite the tube tents and the shovel and ferro rod trying to convince people this is for outdoor survival. The water filtering capability is woefully low- they should have put in a second filter and a second bottle to go with the two squeeze bottles, plus two cups since this is for four people. I think they should tell you you need more food. That flashlight sucks- I got one like that in November. It just fell apart on me a couple days ago and the switch not only won't work, it won't stay in place. Can not support, no matter who's brand is on it. The shovel is probably find for soft soil, ,but not rocky, or as a pry bar on debris. And for the price... look, the multi doesn't have to be a Victorinox or Leatherman, or even a Gerber or Sog. Ozark Trails (yes, Walmart) has a $40 tool that has the build quality of a Wingman and the toolset of a Supertool, so there is no excuse at this price. I do like the size and the quality of the box. I think the box could be improved on. This is a size I like- I'm also 5'11" and "brawny". It holds a lot, and if I'm smart it won't be too heavy for me. Normally. If my knee blows out again, or my retired mother has to move it, not happening- this is the size where wheels starts to be an idea. Here's what I think in total. Case good. But I can get stacking, modular boxes from Rigid and Dewalt that are as robust and have base units that can be rolled and are at least as water tight as Yeti, for less money. Its a good kit for city folk- overpaid and under trained cityfolk who aren't getting out of the city, just going to a shelter were there is more consumables waiting. Price isn't bad for what you get, but Im just not sure what you get, taken in whole, is that great.
If I'm making a 4 person bag or box I'd give each person their own stuff like their own sawyer straw, flashlight, and bottle as well as plenty of actual food. For $700 this is a complete waste of money. There are plenty of boxes out that are just as good as the Yeti box and cost half as much and hold twice as much supplies.
Agree way over priced. I saw another similar with lesser box and it was way over priced. So copied for items took one of my good totes, gathered up what was in the high dollar kit plus extra items from my supplies and even with buying a big-time stove I prob don't have more th e n $300 in a 800 kit. Good solid truthful review.
Nice breakdown, I think there is a market for something like this but its not for anyone that knows enough to set up their own kit. It's like the kind of thing you would send to your kids when they have not shown any interest in preps and then they marry a bank manager. At least they would have the basics right....
The only reason I can think of to warrant needing this case is if you live on the coast and are anticipating a tidal wave. Does it float? How much does this weigh? Also, thanks for the excellent and honest review.
How heavy was the box? Even if you keep it in your truck. It you had to abandon your truck would you be able to carry the box far? It’s just not as practical in that since to me. I’d rather have a backpack and the ability to have my hands free. I love the box concept. But not sure if it’s practical application. Thanks for breaking it down for us.
I agree with your final comments. I do not think it is worth the money. I have found that with Uncharted Supply. I got their 72 Pro for a black friday special at 50% off (only way I would get one). That was pretty close to being worth the money, and I did some editions, upgrades and swaps of gear to make it something worth carrying in my car. Yeti? Overpriced to the Nth degree. If they wanted to justify the price here, get a 64 oz steel canteen/bottle and 2 (really 4) Grayl Geopress bottles. Store and boil in the canteen, purify in the grayl's. The moment it came up with a single Sawyer filter for 4 people, it showed me they have started cutting corners. I do think Uncharted started out wanting to make an easy to use emergency kit. They have included most of the gear needed. Most. Again, I have one - that I have edited and continue to edit. I love the 72 Pro bag. I would not buy it again, even at 50% off. I also have a tiny sling bag that will keep one person for 72 hours that cost me about $200, but $80 is the shelter alone, $50 for the light. I keep it on my bike when out riding on extended rides to augment my main camping gear. The "over-branding" is silly. I understand Brand is important, especially in the world of influencers and the internet, but damn.
I like the kit. Ive looked at alot of pre-made bug out/survival kits. Most of the basic goods you get in the box/kits you dont find in africa. Pity exporting too other countries makes it very expensive.
WOW, $700??? I've got a Husky 16 inch Pro Mobile Office Organizer ($40 at Home Depot) that I keep my camping gear in, and I have a lot more useful stuff in there, for less than $250, Just off the top of my head, I know I have the Stanley 2 cup cook set, MSR Pocket Rocket 2, ISO/Butane, cast iron fry pan, Utensils, cap light, 2 flash lights, a couple lighters, UCO storm matches, Band-Aids, liquid band-aid, Neosporin, aspirin, Advil, and Tylenol, alcohol pads, wet ones, paracord, garden trowel, claw hammer, bug spray, sawyer squeeze (campground water sucks a lot of times), and a lot more little miscellaneous stuff. I'm more prepared just to go camping than what this "survival kit" has to offer. The only quality item there is the YETI box, I've looked at them, but I don't think they are worth the $250 they want for them.

I agree ... with most of what you said. $700? Frankly, they're out of their minds..and the excessive logo stamping, oy🙄
The Yeti box is about $250, so basically $450 for all the stuff inside. Yes, totally agree way over priced and the branding is just nonsense.
@@baddriversofthenorcalarea500 You're paying for the branding instead of the items. Sheesh.

So about 175 dollars worth for 699 dollars?
Great review and I agree with you on hand warmers and hygiene

Thanks much. More content to come.
Great video, well presented, cleanly displayed. And really digging the visual styling.
Totally agree. I love my self made kits. I will use that yeti box though
And thanks for joining the team
I love the honest review. I laughed through this video at the contents, and I almost soiled myself when you said the price! Holy crap! Did the guy who designed and price this get fired?! I agree. I can and have put a way better kit than this. Oh, and I probably saved $500.00. Great video. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The box design looks cool but i'm a practical person.
Crazy
I agree with you. Take the time and put together your own bag to meet your families needs.
Thank you for being real about this product.
Bugging in is best.
@@MarineX totally agree, unless your house is in danger of being overrun or whatever.
keep it up man
you are like a seasoned youtuber
This is a good start. I would add things but its a very good “ base” to start
I'll be using the box for sure. Thanks for joining the team
Great job on the review. Thanks.
Thanks much
I bought the go box because I like the yeti brand.
Thanks much. I'd look into that
Love the yeti also the radio has a crank handle folded up on the back side for changing.
Thank you for the honest review! Great video and very informative.
One of the things that breaks me up is that these companies don't take into consideration mobility ability.
I know some people will say " But they have back packs..." try hauling that 4 person bag you have if you are suffering from injury
or infirmity.
A Nanuk 935 is a good size box that could easily hold all this stuff and it can be towed on the wheels or carried.
Just saying...
BATTALION! Excellent video sir.
Thanks for the review.
Be Safe out there
I really wish I hadn't been taking a drink when you said the price out loud. Jeez.
Thanks for the review.... keep the content coming...
Binge watching your content, amigo. Good stuff.
100% agree. With $750 I can put together a way bigger and better kit.
The only thing I’d buy in the whole kit is the sawyer squeeze water filters. All that Chinese garbage in an overpriced box.
Very informative and well put together with your comments and opinions on the kit. Totally agree though that while it's a great box and some handy pieces of kit it's very overpriced
Great video. Thank you, these look like so much more on their advertisement. It’s good to see a well thought out breakdown.
No problem. Hopefully you enjoy the rest of the content
This would be great for my sister. I like the idea of a 4 person 72 hour kit, and may consider building a version for my van.
You Make a lot of points. But I'd be worried about people seeing name brand stuff especially since they brand everything.
Save a ton of $$$ and get something like a plano footlocker and load it out with quality gear and a more comprehensive first aid kit.
Not a bad idea
Saw the yeti and was hoping this would be a premium across the board item kit, its nowhere close to where it should be.
you can likely make your own for 1/4 of that price, and you get to pick and choose what you prefer vs those "ok" quality Item
That's a great idea. I'll send this to my mom lol.
YETI gear is ridiculously expensive. Its bomb-proof, but really too much so.
The only reason I can think of to warrant needing this case is if you live on the coast and are anticipating a tidal wave. Does it float? How much does this weigh? Also, thanks for the excellent and honest review.
It should float. No clue about weight
Like the box..other stuff not so much.
Good review.
New tó Your channel and I have to say that I love your honesty in your review. Great Job! You have a new subscriber from Ireland 😉
The radio should be handcrancked. If u have no power how r u gonna charge it?
How heavy was the box? Even if you keep it in your truck. It you had to abandon your truck would you be able to carry the box far? It’s just not as practical in that since to me. I’d rather have a backpack and the ability to have my hands free. I love the box concept. But not sure if it’s practical application. Thanks for breaking it down for us.
You my last thought would be ",look at all the branding " same dude spent the stimulus on Jordan's lmfao
Thanks for the info Devil Dog!
No problem killer
Thanks for checking it out
Thanks Again For Streaming
Nice 👌 id rather make my own which I do . Its ok if you have the money. Hope your well 🙏. OUT
Nice review! I'm going to check out the rest of your channel!
I mean I would always say build your own, do your research. Then build it for you
Will you please post link to the video of you making the bag behind you that you pointed out that you put together.

I like the kit. Ive looked at alot of pre-made bug out/survival kits. Most of the basic goods you get in the box/kits you dont find in africa. Pity exporting too other countries makes it very expensive.
Hopefully that can be changed sooner than later
@@MarineX i enjoy your review on 4 person yeti survival box. There is somethings id add more off when needed.
The struggle is real... I live with over in West Africa and I agree many basic goods are pretty much impossible to find.
Thanks for the review. Seems a bit pricey. Box is cool though .
Why don't the expensive kits provide TP? They have smaller travel rolls?
Great advice; THANKS!
Put the Solkoa S3 Pro in this this Yeti Box and you've got a good kit
Extremely good idea. Except they're always out of stock.
