I try and follow up with value. Contact them back with that color is confirmed (or running short) our Ice dam material is 6 mill, in other words I try to clarify or make good on a promise I made at presentation. ("I don't know that Mr. Smith but I will contact you by Thurs and make sure") In fact I've been know to leave one or two things in the nebulous zone so I can contact back. Now I'm not pestering, I am informing or educating.
