  • 2022 Hyundai Kona N POV Review - It's Bonkers! [Car Obsession]
    Hello guys, welcome back to Car Obsession, and welcome to another POV Review. This time around it's the turn of a family crossover that's packing a firecracker under the bonnet - the new Hyundai Kona N. What we have here is essentially an i30N but in the bodyshape of a Kona.
    Just like the i30N, the Kona N is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged four pot offering 280hp and 392Nm of torque. This is fed to the front wheels, but unlike the i30N, the Kona N is ONLY available with the new 8-speed DCT. 0-62 takes just 5.5 seconds, and the top speed is 149mph.
    With a starting price of £35,820, the Kona N comes with a plethora of standard kit such as N styling, LED lights, keyless entry, tinted rear windows, 19" alloys, digital instrument cluster, head up display, front sports seats which are heated and ventilated, heated outer rear seats, 10.25" infotainment, climate control, heated steering wheel - the list goes on. As you can see, a lot comes as standard, and better still, the Kona N comes with a 5 year warranty, which extends to track usage.
    I hope you enjoy my POV review - the main review will be coming soon.

    Thanks for the ride! Can you imagine taking your wife and kids on a fast ride with this car ? I wonder what their reaction would be.
    I’m a die hard fan of motor cars. I can’t imagine owning an EV someday. I m lucky that in my car , I can choose between full automatic ( for my wife and daughter) and semiautomatic mode for me. I enjoy changing gears with the paddle shifts.
    A maybe stupid question. How come that when I use M/T I can hear the engine ( lovely sound I wouldn’t like to miss ) and when We drive in automatic mode, I hardly hear the “ roaring” of the engine?

    • @CarObsession
      @CarObsession  ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly because in auto the car is choosing when you change gear whereas in manual mode I can allow the engine to rev out for longer. Thanks for watching.

    Why it holds the 4th gear for so long when you drive in auto?it's should be changes gear up when you drive faster right?

      Depends on which setting you have the transmission set to. If it's in sport plus the auto will hold revs higher.

    These PZero tyres are very bad in rain.

    • @CarObsession
      @CarObsession  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, they're definitely a fairweather tyre, thanks for watching.

    • @telelaci2
      @telelaci2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CarObsession What is "no" ? It's a summer tyre. Not so bad on the dry road though, but unfortunately sometimes it's raining in summer. (especially in UK) And then the car becomes a fun sledge, a new kind of fun with doubled braking distance. It's a little dangerous with that engine power. Michelin Pilot 4s is much better in general, but it's expensive compared to Pirelli. Sorry it just popped in my mind because I saw that you were testing it in rain, that is this tyre's main weakness, you were not so lucky.

    • @CarObsession
      @CarObsession  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@telelaci2 I said No just as a way of acknowledging your comment. Yes, I prefer Michelin for sure. In regard to pricing, I wouldn't say they're expensive compared to Pirelli - in my experience I find they're normally a similar price.

    • @CarObsession
      @CarObsession  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@telelaci2 Also, when I said it's a fairweather tyre, it was more a figure of speech as opposed to an actual fact.
