Lovely to see an older fella on the decks. I'm 57 and still dancing to trance. It takes me away from this stressful world, trance dance no drugs or drink just my imagination, music and dance, and im off with the fairies lol I love beachball. Im having a massive clear out, mind, body, soul, home. Ive picked your channel to listen to while While dance and lear this clutter out of the way. Love the Marcella track 👍
Thank you so much for your comment. I'm like you, good music can take you to place outside of the mundane, daily strife. Thank you for taking the time to listen to the mix. 🎧🤓👊❤️
This mix takes me back to playing on repeat a Ministry of Sound CD in my absolutely knackered Cavalier SRI!! If you keep this up, old chap, we may have to augment your glasses with a couple of mini torches for the full trance impact!
Such a beautiful mix! So glad I found your reel on instagram that took me to this channel ❤️ you blended these legendary songs beautifully, such a pleasure to listen! 🔊🪩🎶❤️
Mr Shotter! No way. Huge fan. I was supporting Seance and Antheama from official release back in '91. Thank you so much for reaching out and commenting on my video, glad you liked it. Joe, you've made my day. 🎧❤️🤓
I'm not sure I'd recommend the full Pioneer CDJ & DJM setup you see me using on the videos...they literally cost the price of a small family car!!!! (And I'm already experiencing issues with the CDJ-3000s (they're not even a year old yet) Recommendation 1: See if you can pick up a set of used Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS2s and a DJM-900 mixer. They're still being used in bars, clubs, and venues around the world. Having this setup will help you feel more comfortable/confident if you ever get to DJ at any of these types of venues. Recommendation 2: You could look at buying a Denon setup, their flagship models include features that the Pioneer gear doesn't. Recommendation 3: If it's literally just for a home setup and you don't plan on playing out at clubs I'd go for a controller or all-in-one setup. One of the events I played at the Marshall Arena to over 2000 people last year was on my Pioneer XDJ-R1 all-in-one controller - it has pro-level balanced XLR outputs so the sound guys were happy and it was what I was used to using for the past few years. The second event I played there they had setup 4 CDJ-3000s ready for Andy C who was playing there the following night...At this point my 3000s had arrived and I'd had enough time to get familiar with them before playing to another couple of thousand ravers! (Otherwise I would have used the controller again - people don't care as long as they can hear the music and have a great night 🎧🤓👍👊🔊🎵🎶)
The majority of them are from my own record collection, I've spent the past couple of years recording them from vinyl. Compilation albums are a good way to get tunes too but they don't tend to be extended versions so can be slightly trickier to mix!
@djhurleymkfm yeah that's the trouble I find short mixes of tracks mate love trance classics take you to another world I have decks myself I 49 years of age n just love music your mixes are bangin and it's nice to see someone my own ageish instead of theese young whipper snappers who think they now it all cus they got a controller n mp3s would you be willing to sell a usb full of trance classics by anychance
@@djhurleymkfm Although there are also a few tracks from this era where, in my opinion, the Radio Edit is actually better than the extended mix. An example would be "Storm" by Storm, I feel like the long version just doesn't work anymore (if it ever did) but the Radio/Video version is a classic. It's closer in pace to how it would be arranged today, even for the club.
Some tracks get blocked in certain countries (tends to be Russia) but to check, I upload a video with the tracks I want to include in a mix privately and let TH-cam do it's thing - if there's strikes I don't include those tracks. It's time consuming but it lets me know what I can and cannot include in my mixes to allow a safe upload! Hope that answers your question. Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment. 🎧🤓🔊👊
@@djhurleymkfmfrom my own experience YT don't have all the copyright checks embedded, and hence individuals can put a claim at any time. I had a collection of some 300 odd films that were old, obscure, and still got pinged. So hence changes were made.
Jens - Loop & Tings is more of a hard trance track, which wasn't as big in the UK I always used to play more Euphoric Trance, and this mini-mix is part of a series, so there are more tunes to come. 🎧
Let's not start this conversation! In reply to the "pretending to mix" comment, I would like to say the following: I'm a former DMC DJ Championship finalist and have been a professional DJ since the 80s with mixing, scratching and turntablism skills. I am not going to be using those skills to "mix" Trance music on equipment which provides the technology to make my life easier. This video, and subsequent Trance mix videos on my channel, were for me to showcase some of the music I was playing when I was a resident DJ at Sensoria, a Trance club in the UK - and to confirm, I was using vinyl and Technics 1210 turntables back then. Some questions for everyone who wants to comment on "mixing/syncing": Do you drive a car or use public transport to get to work/school/college/university, or do you ride a horse and cart like they used to "back in the day"? If you drive a car, are you using the "driver assist" technology? I bet you are! Do you use ChatGPT or do you think for yourself? We are ALL making use of the technology around us - I use the technology now available to me as a Pro DJ to allow me to focus on other things when I'm DJ live to a crowd or mixing for my radio shows.
