I generally do not play racing games, but NASCAR Rumble looks phenomenal. Your review has so much detail, and it's clear how much enjoyment it brought you. Definitely adding this title to my wishlist!

this was my childhood dude , i never owned a Snes or N64 ( i have a Nes a Genesis , Ps1) so the first introduction to powerup racing games was this and i love it , i sill love it to this day , great review dude

Great review. Man that little speech at the end is so true, I miss when games used to be like that.
I was actually thinking about this earlier. My gaming habits have literally fallen off the face of their existence. Unless it's a game I HAVE to have (which at this point is down to three) I can wait till it's a GOTY edition and $20. I haven't touched my PS4 in MONTHS, and it won't get touched again until Horizon Forbidden West comes out.
There's just to much simple joy in playing older games that you know are 100% all there for eternity.

@@GameRaveTV Yep. This is pretty much how I feel now. There just isn't too many newer games coming out that I'm interested in playing except for a handful. I mainly just play games in my backlog or look for/buy older games that I've either always wanted to play or have never heard of but looks like something I want to try.

Hello there :) On a completely unrelated note: I have a FF8 variant that's not listed on your website. I didn't even know it was a variant until I visited your website lol. I saw you mention no GH copies came with the mini strategy guide, and I thought that's not right..... I went to ebay and confirmed no GH versions there come with it. Then I noticed that the GH instruction manuals are green. Well my GH version of FF8 that I bought new and sealed off the rack in about 2000, has a black regular instruction manual, the mini strategy guide, but GH discs. My theory is my version is a transitional copy between regular release and GH, which would make sense given the approximate time I bought it. No way to be completely sure though. Oh, also I'm in Canada. Thought you would like to know, cheers mate :)
Pretty impressive what they were able to pull off on PS1 hardware.
It really is - and the game keeps impressing me every time I go back. :D
The sad part about being from Germany and loving NASCAR games in general is that many of the PS1 / PS2 era games never released over here, sadly including NASCAR Rumble. That makes it incredibly hard to find a copy without importing it yourself. I downloaded it years ago from a shady side and I love it.

Hey man great review👌🏾 This game looks like a fun time and that has a good amount to offer.
It really is, and it really does. If you ding the Card at the top of the video, I mapped out everything (it's the same page I showed off in the Cheat Code Reveal). I think there's one or two short cuts I still need to find - pondering going back this one day and just mapping out the whole game. It's that good.

Crash Team Racing on steroid with Nascar... Thats I summarized it back then because we still didnt know Mario Kart exist ( due to jump from NES to PS1)

Have you tried this on the Polymega ? I wonder how it looks vs the normal ps1 hardware
Trick answer - so I originally tried it off-camera after the unboxing video and felt something was off. It was too...drab. Turns out the TV i have it hooked up to has a bizarre set of options, and after tweaking the TV, things look much better. I did try it again after you asked, and in comparing it screen (PM on TV) to screen (real PSX on CRT), aside from a wacky color nitpick, it looks great.
I think the color issue is the actual TV type - on the CRT in both AV and S-Video, the title screen's checkered flag looks blue. On the Flat screen and my PS 3D Monitor, it looks more purple. However once in-game, most of the colors almost match up. So it's not so much the emulation is wrong (it isn't) it's just that players will need to tweak their TVs to find the sweet spot. It looks *really* nice on the PS 3D Monitor, if maybe just a tiny bit too saturated. I might switch back to that.
