Exponential distribution in Waiting lines

We study waiting lines (queuing theory) using the standard M/M/1 model and keep hearing that the inter-arrival and service times follow an exponential distribution. And, in most cases, we have very little idea of what this exponential distribution means. In this video, I try to explain that.
