Somehow someway this judge finds a way to side with or excuse abusive men. She will tell them about anger management then still find a way to blame the woman for the mans lack of self control and foolishness.
It is not only men that are abusive in marriages, women too can also be either emotionally or physically abusive. So each case men must be studied critically.
This is the first Nigerian court I've seen and love to watch the channel. Loving it. However I have noticed alot of domestic cases being brought to this court, but all I clearly see is referral for therapy sessions and counselling; the perpetrators go scot free with no repercussions! The judge should do more by referring such perpetrators to the police!
And that is because you all don’t know A from B, the court matter was not based on Violence. You filed a report for custody or child support and in between explanation of violence came up, the judge can’t simply shift her judgement on that. You all should understand the type of court that this is, not what you expect it to do.

In as much as I don't support domestic violence; our women should learn to control their hot temper. Respect and submission are keywords to gain a husband's heart. @ Julie Anne, great observation and good point. My remark will be that issues are viewed and handled differently from country to country and culture to culture all over the world. Legal system and culture where the court sits may be different from the one you are used to in the west. The man had been arrested 3 times for domestic violence and as at the time they came to court, they were already separated. The case that was brought before the court was for child support. The Judge granted it. She went further to recommend classes on anger and marriage. Seems the couple decided to reunite after the classes, not sure if the same result would have been achieved if the judge had sent the man to prison.

The judges only rule on charges brought before them in Africa. If you want the Judge to rule over domestic violence issue, you will have to file that in your charges. The wife in this case brought child support matter before the court and gracefully the judge granted her prayers. I have not heard of any American or British Judge that has sent someone to Jail over a charge that was not brought before them either, such judgement will be challenged. lots of people making uninformed remarks just need to get educated about legal system.

This is the first Nigerian court I've seen and love to watch the channel. Loving it. However I have noticed alot of domestic cases being brought to this court, but all I clearly see is referral for therapy sessions and counselling; the perpetrators go scot free with no repercussions! The judge should do more by referring such perpetrators to the police!
And that is because you all don’t know A from B, the court matter was not based on Violence. You filed a report for custody or child support and in between explanation of violence came up, the judge can’t simply shift her judgement on that. You all should understand the type of court that this is, not what you expect it to do.
Poverty is the main problem of this couple. If this woman is empowered, this challenge will disappear

As far I know, domestic violence is a no no, I don't know about the woman going back to the marriage, the judge wouldn't be there when he starts to beat her again and ultimately God forbid kills her. They need space apart and serious counselling.

Wrong Approach vs Anger Management. Sometimes we are ignorant and that leads to many unresolved issues. In as much as I don't support domestic violence; our women should learn to control their hot temper. Respect and submission are keywords to gain a husband's heart. Care and listening ears are enough to gain the heart of one's wife. For me, I will never lift my hands to beat my wife except to kill those stupid flies that want to gain access to her body. It takes more the spirit of an ordinary man for a husband to lift his hands and beat his wife. Let us avoid domestic violence at all cost!

This JUDGE is being inappropriately nosey about their marriage, she always tells women to go back to their husbands and go to counselling to save a toxic marriage......i see Judge do this many times. This husband has been abusing this women, its shocking, so why is the judge not being appropriately harsh with this husband. He should've been in prison for assaulting Her. She needs to be free of HIM....
@ Julie Anne, great observation and good point. My remark will be that issues are viewed and handled differently from country to country and culture to culture all over the world. Legal system and culture where the court sits may be different from the one you are used to in the west. The man had been arrested 3 times for domestic violence and as at the time they came to court, they were already separated. The case that was brought before the court was for child support. The Judge granted it. She went further to recommend classes on anger and marriage. Seems the couple decided to reunite after the classes, not sure if the same result would have been achieved if the judge had sent the man to prison.

@Godlywomanhenceforth Lool. You are close but People still get locked up, there are several prisons for offenders. The Judge was going by the legal system in the country. The judges only rule on charges brought before them in Africa. If you want the Judge to rule over domestic violence issue, you will have to file that in your charges. The wife in this case brought child support matter before the court and gracefully the judge granted her prayers. I have not heard of any American or British Judge that has sent someone to Jail over a charge that was not brought before them either, such judgement will be challenged. lots of people making uninformed remarks just need to get educated about legal system.
@@julieannejoolz You are right. I only wondered why the wife did not bring domestic violence charges before the court. Unfortunately she can only get ruling over charges she filed in court, in this case it is child support. Women really need to speak up against violence.
