Thanks Darnell! JD from Idaho here, love the videos as much as the food! Great job, I tell all of my buddy's to check out D grills. God bless and keep grillin!!!
Thanks great job explaining the steps. Got the same smoker a little older don’t have the slider grate. Had to buy a shelf to hold the food off the grill. Has to many hot spots for real even cooking.
Hey Darnell, Gary here again from your Zojirushi Bread Maker channel. I didn't know that you did smoker videos too. So do I. I've had a small series 20 Traeger for about 5 years now. It's never failed me and it turns out great proteins. One of my favorites is Tri Tip. I also have a small portable Ranger Traeger that we take camping. Each time we camp with our RV club, I make 2 trip tip roasts using the reverse sear method, smoking for about 30-40 minutes, then cranking up the temp to 450 and finishing off til med-rare. My fav pellets for beef is still the Traeger Costco Blend and the price of $20 is great. For my poultry though, I like the Apple wood. Last trip to Walmart I see that they are too stocking pellet grills and bags of pellets at dirt cheap prices. Although they may just come from China and who knows what may be in those pellets. I'll stick to Traeger brand. Here is Simi Valley, CA., we have a outlet store and they sell bags of torn Traeger pellets for about 1/2 price at about $9 a bag. Your GMG grill really puts out the smoke I see. Sometimes I get lots and other time not quite as much. Humidity and temp seems to play a part in that here. (See you on the your Zojirushi Bread Maker in a minute, I have an update for you. Happy grilling buddy. Gary
Thanks D. I just bought the same grill you have. I love it so far. Thanks very much for all the details and quirks in reviewing the app and grill. I’m still learning.
Thanks for your help with our before Christmas Brisket... Also, great job explaining things especially in choosing pellets! We like the hickory better as well...
I am slowly working my way to a brisket. I have been a GMG DB owner for about 3 weeks and have been dabbling in the “shallow side of the pool” as far as difficulty. I will be referring to this video when I try a brisket because I do try GMG recipes as a reference. I will compare a similar Traeger recipe with this just for the fact I have had some success with their recipes. Thanks for sharing D grill! Looking forward to seeing a shrimp and pork chop video in the future 👍🏼
HAVE YOU EVER WRAPPED YOUR BRISKETS IN BUTCHER PAPER??? WE WRAP OUR BRISKETS & RIBS IN BUTCHER PAPER AND WE LOVE-IT, ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIKE THE FLAVOR SMOKE ADDS...
I don't need a sponsor to pay my bills, so I can afford to be honest. GMG gives 40% more in a bag of pellets. 28 pounds instead of the usual 20 pounds. But I always feel their "blends" are missing on deep smoke flavor. When I used Traeger pellets, that are not "blends", I could taste the difference.
Good videos. I'm considering upgrading from a propane Masterbuilt to a GMG or Weber Smokey Mountain. Also, you should cut your meat on a cutting board with decent lighting. It's the best part of all bbq videos. I don't think slicing it under a microwave in a pan is going to highlight your finished product.
That's a great verse. As a society we are so future oriented sometimes we don't think about today. Reminds me of something my grandmother quotes to me all the time to remind of that. We could all use a little reminder to focus on today and have faith in God's plan instead of worrying about what is to come. Keep up the great videos! Jeremiah 29:11. biblehub.com/jeremiah/29-11.htm
Great channel. I started researching pellet grills a few weeks ago and came across your channel. Tonight was my first smoke on my DB. It’s funny I used a GMG brand of pellets and my wife made the comment that she couldn’t taste the smoke on the baby back ribs I cooked. I figured it was me being a new pellet grill user....now you’ve got me thinking maybe it wasn’t me. I’ve referenced your videos multiple times for various reasons from cooking to cleaning tips. I like the accessories you use to. The front shelf addition is on my list for sure. I bought the non-WiFi grill. I like how I can still use the app and manually adjust the temps using the programs, it’s a little more work but I like it.

Just got a Jim Bowie for the family. Can't wait to do my first brisket 😁🤞

How many times did you have to fill hopper? Approximatley how many bags of pellets used?
I don't recall.
I refilled the hopper one time for a 10 pounder at about the 12 hour mark and cookednit for about 15 hours

I suddenly want to buy Allstate insurance I've heard this voice before.
D Grill! Thanks for being honest in your taste test. A lot of times people are homers and support the pellet brand regardless.

@@DGrill do you think its because they found out that Traeger pellets were found to have oil additives?
Whatever it is, I like it.
Great vid. Do you have your profiles listed anywhere? Thanks in advance.

@@DGrill thanks again
Just a question as to why everyone wraps and outs back in the smoker. Seems like a waste of pellets when you could just use the oven no?

Yes that is something I plan to change.
#NotificationGang in the house! Always good to see a BBQ video heading into the weekend!
Great video. I'm loving my gmg now that it's up and going. ? Do you go though a lot of wood. I feel like I do and . Thanks.
I feel my pellet consumption is average.
Pellet consumption depends on many various conditions. So YMMV.
3:42 insert record scratch...put the trimming music back on...I was almost there😙😙😙
Let's keep my channel free of the mature talk please.
So now you have a gas grill and a pellet smoker....just curious.....are you going to add a stick burner to your lineup down the road?
I'm going to lean on *Matthew 6 : 34* regarding that 😁.

Ever try pineapple juice?
No, have you tried it?
Yes! You should try it sometime on one of your videos and see what you think!

Cool.
Yeah, the type of pellets used have a major impact: th-cam.com/video/N3jo3V7rwnc/w-d-xo.html

I know everyone has there own opinion. But my God. That was way too much technology for me. Way to many steps. Heat. Time. Smoke. Simple is better.
To each their own. I prefer to leverage the technology.
