I think we can all agree that in most cases we simply pay for the brand name and the story we attach to it but I’m so open to hear your thoughts.

If I just saw you wearing both eyes with the ysl look I would think it was a very pretty look on you. But knowing what the colors were supposed to be and how badly they failed to perform, it is definitely disappointing. I love the LA girl side. You for sure pull of both looks though. 🖤

I think it's a little hard to compare these two, because clearly, the colors of the LA Girl were much brighter/darker (more pigmented) than the ones in the YSL palette. The blues were completely different. However...CLEARLY the colors of the YSL palette didn't even go on as the same color they were in the palette! I will say, the YSL eye is a very pretty, nice, kind of date night yet casual look...but it is also a look that you could get from something like Cover Girl or Maybelline (or any other brand that does not cost $120!). Those brands definitely charge for the name more than the product itself.
You, however, are gorgeous in every single makeup look that you wear! Not many people can pull off the many different colors that you wear and look stunning in! ❤❤❤

I just want to say ...where are you shopping that cover girl is any price over $7-15... I rarely ever buy make up. But I just happened to buy full face make up a few weeks ago. From Walmart (cause that's how I roll) and I got 8 pieces of make up plus sponges, and make up remover wipes... cost under $100.
@@coffeeaddict2122 if you're talking to me, that's why I said any other brand that does NOT cost $120. Cover Girl is certainly not as cheap as it used to be (but then again, what product is), but still way more affordable than a $120 designer eye palette.

When you put the YSL “blue” on your eyelid, my brain played the “whomp whomp whooooomp” noise.
I have that LA girl palette and love it, but the blue is definitely more dramatic than I'd typically wear. The YSL isn't necessarily more 'worth it', but it is much more wearable 🤔

I love both eyes, but don’t like the colors in the pan for YSL were NOT what they ended up to be! I have a pallet I purchased for cheap that can do the same thing. That LA girl Pallet is on my list to get lol love how intense the blue is!

If you're going for drama, it's the LA Girl all the way, obvs. But, for a normal, everyday, wearable, that YSL look totally rocks.
I loved the second one the best. Maybe because I am not a fan of blue on me. But I do think that they are
WAY OVER PRICED
after seeing that they did not look like they were supposed to. I believe that we can achieve the expensive look without spending over $25. I like to buy other stuff and not spend it all in one place.

Loved this video! The color difference on the luxury palette is insane. I would be taking that one back, it’s not worth the $$ spent. Although I’m not a huge fan of LA Girl makeup, it’s definitely the winner in this competition!

I can’t believe they charge over $100 for a palette that performs like that! There was barely any pigment and the blue turned muddy grey immediately and out of nowhere! I had heard comments from others that the YSL palette was terrible, but I never saw it in action like this to realize just how bad it is. I could never afford a palette with a price tag like that, but if I saved up for years and splurged on that palette, I’d die….and cry a lot! I’d have to tell them to give my money back cuz there’s no way I could swallow taking a hit of over $100 on garbage like that! I guess being too broke to ever think about affording luxury brands like that isn’t so bad after all. I’ll take my ColourPop shadows and drugstore shadows any day over that YSL garbage!

The luxury side is pretty but not for the price, if it was the same price point as the drugstore then heck yes BUT its a big HECK NO FOR ME DAWG 😂
I'm actually surprised at how nicely the LA girl blue and orange blended, considering they're complementary colors, but that's why the YSL turned so dark very likely, they blended together to a brown. I also think the LA girl didn't blend to a brown is probably because you used the orange matte and the blue shimmer, which is 2 different formulas obviously, so that may have helped keep them a bit seperated as well, whereas the YSL was the exact same formula, so they melted together to become muddy immediately.
Not a pro, just an assumption.
I think you should give the YSL another chance and try non-complementary colors next to each other. Imo I still think the YSL was nice, it wasn't super super pigmented, but it does look like it is selling as a pastel palette maybe? Haven't actually looked into it, but that was my first thought when you opened it. I don't think it's a shit palette, I would never spend that much on a palette because I don't have it like that, but it's not super bad.

Simmers are always going to have more of an impact, that's just built in for them. That said, I was surprised that a simmer had skipping. Both pallets had issues, one with skipping and one with bad color payout. The price is what killed ysl. Pass on both pallets.
