Merci beaucoup pour votre series, Alice. I recently found your channel after watching a video about Dr. Krashen and comprehensible input. I love the French language and am interested in learning to understand it. I took four years of French in high school, but that was 50 years ago and i was more interested in passing the tests than acquiring the language. But now I actually want to understand it. I am currently working on Duolingo and MosaLingua French and Spanish. I have found the Duo exercises to be primarily writing with being marked wrong if there are any grammatical errors. Not so fun. With Mosa I have found a lot of memorization of phrases, but not much help with actually being able to have a conversation in either language. Both Duo and Mosa use "gaming' with "streaks" of consecutive days to keep you coming back daily. And spaced repetition is helpful for memorization....but your series is much more helpful to actually acquire a language. I am already running on but it is obvious that there is a great interest in learning a second or third language. But most people become disheartened when after several years of study, they cannot even communicate like a 3 year old in the language they are studying.
As your series points out, it is necessary to be able to understand what is being presented. It must be interesting. And it helps to be presented in a low stress environment.
Your videos hit all of the above! You are so interesting that for the first time ever, I listen to your videos and do not even realize that you are speaking in French. I wonder where i would be if i had been learning through CI all along? I will take your advice and begin reading French (and Spanish) and will look for a channel offering CI in Spanish. I live in Florida in the US, so Spanish would be very useful to learn. But I cannot help but to love everything French.
I suspect you will some day have 1 million subscribers, like Alexa. Once the word gets out. Unfortunately, too few educators are familiar with CI.

I'm a member of french learning community and just finished watching all baby stage! I'm improved so much!! So much content to learn it's so helpful i don't know how would i be learning french without your channel and the membership it just makes it so easy to listen and aquire french.
I knew about S.krashen work before this series as I've learned Spanish with his methods but i didn't know B.mason although.

Love your channel! I learned a bit of French before. Wish I had your channel back then. Right now I’m focusing on Spanish and watch a lot of “comprehensible input” of Dreaming Spanish channel. Pablo, the teacher, also uses the method preached by Dr. Krashen. He has 4 levels of videos: super beginner, beginner, intermediate & advanced. Would love to see more “comprehensible input” French videos of all levels.

Vous me manques Alice! Merci pour le series. Oui, tres importante sujet. C'est quand je apprende sur Krashen je trouve vous sur TH-cam. Le theories de Krashen logique parce que ... regarde une bebe! Ils n'apprende pas les regles de grammar! :)

Wait... a pause in videos? Oh, OK, you can take a little bit of time off after this last wonderful series! I have loved this series about the theory of language acquisition, and THIS is the video I have been waiting for! I first heard of Dr. Krashen several years ago from my French teacher, Helene Cormier (Wandering French is her TH-cam channel) and I found a few videos of his lectures on TH-cam. I remember that I was astounded at his demonstration of typical German instruction, In contrast to a CI approach. (Stephen Krashen and Language Acquisition, or something similar, was the video I think) I was immediately convinced that, in fact, any learning I was currently accomplishing was the result of this phenomenon.
I have only been a member of your website for a few months, Alice, but it is now part of my daily routine. I browse the stories as I get ready for bed, and listen and read 20 or 30 minutes of French each night. I look for stories that are clever, or look easy, or otherwise intrigue me. I am always focused on "le fun"...if I am not having fun, I don't bother. And I find your website lots of fun. For example, Medor totally cracks me up...I listen to and read ANYTHING about Marie and Medor, even if the story looks very simple, because I think he is so amusing.

Merci Alice. Vos vidéos sont vraiment utiles. J'ai une question pour vous. Croyez-vous en l'au-delà? Beaucoup de gens meurent de ce virus et d'autres choses. Après notre mort, nos âmes iront dans l'un de ces deux endroits. Paradis ou enfer (feu éternel). Une personne ira en enfer si elle commet un péché. Ces péchés sont le mensonge, le vol, l'immoralité sexuelle, l'idolâtrie, l'adultère, la sorcellerie, la divination (astrologie, loi de l'attraction), l'homosexualité, la cupidité, l'ivresse, la déviation, la fraude, la désobéissance aux parents, les querelles, l'envie, le meurtre, la vantardise, etc. tout a péché dans nos vies et cela suffit pour nous envoyer en enfer par le jugement de Dieu. Beaucoup croient que nous pouvons être sauvés du jugement en faisant de bonnes actions. Ce n'est pas vrai parce que le châtiment du péché est la mort. Dans une cour de justice, le juge ne jugera pas les bonnes actions du criminel. Le criminel sera jugé sur ses crimes. C'est ainsi que ce sera le jour du jugement dernier. Malgré nos péchés, Dieu a créé une solution pour nous. Il y a plus de 2000 ans, Dieu a envoyé son fils unique, Jésus-Christ, mourir pour nous afin de payer la pénalité de nos péchés. C'est une décision pour le monde entier que nous l'acceptions ou non. La Bible promet la vie éternelle à ceux qui ont confiance, croient en lui. Ceci est un message pour vous dans votre langue maternelle.

Bonjour, je tiens à vous informer que j'ai appliqué cette méthode sur mon acquisition d'anglais est ça va très très bien, en revanche je l'applique aussitôt sur le français, j'ai constaté une nette amélioration sur le volet communication et compréhension, par la même, je diffuse cette méthode sur mon group Anglais bien sûr pour aider le max de personnes à utiliser cette méthode pour réussir à parler l'anglais.
Je vous félicite sincèrement sur votre contribution remarquable pour aider les gens à acquire le Français et je vous confirme mon intérêt et bénéfices à l'utilisation de votre contenu comprehensible.
