Conan: Our next guest is a tallented comedian who's critically acclaimed new memoré will be in stores Wednesday. Please welcome the very funny Moshe Kasher.
    Kasher: Hi everybody.
    Audience: Hi
Kasher: I do have a new memoré coming out. It's the story of my troubled childhood. It's called "Kasher in the Rye".
    audience: laughs
Kosher: That really is the title. I grew up in kind of a wei... I'll tell you something about that troubled childhood. I grew up in kind of a weird household. I was raised in a Deaf household. My parents were super into hip hop.
    audience: laughs
Kosher: There are sort of weird consequences to having Deaf parents. Both my parents are truly deaf. Like growing up my mother would need to call me on the telephone, but she couldn't use a regular phone. So what she would have to do is type a message on the computer. That message would go to an operator. The operator would then call me, and that's whose voice I would hear on the telephone which made for some awkward conversations.
    LikeringKosher regular voice: hello
Kosher deep voice: hello my son
    Kosher regular voice: God?
Deep voice: no, no it's yo momma calling. How are you my beautiful boy?
Regular voice: Mom are you a black dude?
And she was, my mom was a black dude, which was weird. Weird for me. It was weirder for my dad. When he found out, he was very upset. I don't know if it was because of that or because my father was Deaf or because we were a Jewish family, but I do have fond memories of when my father would force my brother and I to pretend that we were also Deaf in order to get the Deaf discount at the movie theater. Thank you father. Are you guys familiar with the Deaf discount?Audience: .....Kosher: no? That's because it's not REAL!! It doesn't exist!! It's something from the Jewish parts of my father's psyche and the Deaf parts of my dad's psyche combining together to ruin my life. Every time we go to the movies. Same thing my dad would say, "alright kids look Deaf."
HOW? How does one look Deaf?! I tried. I would try looking like I missed something in conversation like, "hmmm"Around Thanksgiving giving I put a cornucopia in my ear. Terrible times. I also went to rehab three times by the time I was fifteen years old. Intense. I stopped smoking pot when I was fifteen which is not a popular position here in California. We recently tried legalizing marijuana completely, but it did NOT pass, because the Xbox doesn't have a vote here function.By the way I'm not anti marijuana, just to clarify I'm not. I think everybody should smoke pot and we should all fail to thrive as a community. I'm on board. But we do have medical marijuana, which I supported. I voted for it, and I think it's a good thing, but I do feel like the clinics at a certain point stop pretending to be medical clinics and not just awesome places to get high with your buddies. Ya know. Like they'll have a green cross kind of calling back to the era where they were still pretending, but then right next to it an old school beasty boys graffiti font, "GET YOUR FRIGGEN SMOKE ON DOG!" This is a weird hospital. There is a lady here in LA. She's called the 4/20 doctor. She one of these sort of quack doctor that any ailment you go to her with she'll give you a card no matter what's you problem. You'll be like, I feeeel like...", "Smokingweed? Your a perfect candidate." That sort of pale's to her motto, which is the four twenty doctor trusted and experienced for three years. THAT IS SO FEW YEARS!! That is like two years more than the available number of years. That's a math joke ladies and gentlemen. Thank you all very much.

@@brennatrix I think it would be satire of writing it out for the deaf folks?

Icculus42 I don’t think it’s satire. The video doesn’t have captions, so Deaf people can’t watch it.

Lmao watching you valiantly prance or trot acrossed the stage as a sword dualing knight. Had to watch twice in a row just to make sure I didn't miss a bit. Definently will keep and eye out for your shows. Thank you for sharing. Bravo!!

The problem with his Conan Appearance was that his interview and his stand-up performance were mostly taken from his book. The book was amazing and awesome. But that stuff didn't evolve greatly into a stand-up or an interview. I've seen his other stand-up and it's great. I also read his book. And it was also great. Unfortunatelly his Conan-appearance could've been better. :(

okay i was simplifying everything u just said that's why im able to say that i think your argument was well though out.Reminds me exactly of what i told someone not too long ago, in that particular video comments were demarcated into those who took offense to what they thought was a racist joke&others who thought there was a double standard when blacks tells "black jokes" and white people are crucified for that same act. That happened to be on a Kasher vid where he told a "racist black joke"

"Drop the 'u', its 2012". Sorry to break it to you, but the American way of spelling is not the only correct way. Do you have something against local variations in the English language? Why? As for me, it's my second strongest language after my mother tongue Finnish. I've learned the English language from different sources, most of them either British or American. So my way of speaking ang writing English has been influenced by both. I don't see why there should be a conflict between the two.

Jews dont make Jewish jokes. Jews make jokes about being Jewish and the Jewish culture from an inside perspective. most non-Jews makes jokes ABOUT Jews, which is not the same thing. How can you accurately make a joke about something, with no experience or any internal perspective?
