- The Election Commission announced the dates for the Lok Sabha polls on March 16. Voting will be held in 7 phases starting from April 19, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said today. The results will be announced on June 4. Phase 1 voting will be held on April 19, Phase 2 voting will be held on April 26, Phase 3 voting will be held on May 7, Phase 4 voting will be held on May 13, Phase 5 voting will be on May 20, Phase 6 voting will take place on May 25 and Phase 7 voting will be held on June 1.

One of the worst commission we have ever seen. 45 days elections?? Better it would have been 6 months. This shows INDIA is still developing.
There should be a movement in India to replace EVM with ballot paper.
Most of the countries of the world have banned it knowing that EVMs can be tampered with. The fact that the opposition parties and the media are not surprised by the use of EVMs in India shows contempt for Indian democracy.
There are only problems in India today that can be solved by using ballot papers instead of EVMs

Well, it's just unfortunate that such thinking exists in people's mind. Evm cannot be tampered as there is a system of mock poll before the actual poll ...mock poll is conducted 90 mins before the actual poll begins and it is conducted by the presiding officer in the presence of all polling agents as well as all polling officials ...One by one cast 50 votes and finally after casting they see the result in the control unit and count the vvpat slips for verification...if there is a mismatch then the evm is faulty and it will be replaced by the concerned sector officer alloted ..and this all happens in the presence of agents representing all the parties who has a candidate contesting from the respective constituency.
Even during the actual poll if a voter complains that the vvpat is showing the wrong symbol other than the symbol I have pressed on the ballot unit ...then he has to sign a form 14B in which it has written that a test vote will be casted by the presiding officer to verify your allegations...if you are found to be wrong then you will face a jail term for 6 years....Then a test vote is casted ...and if the person is found to be true then poll for the same booth is cancelled and repoll happens .....
Those are telling that evm can be tempered has an agenda ....nothing else ...

Where i s one nation one election? seven different days and in between gap Any thing can happen . It should be on the same day every where in the country .When polio vaccine was given in the whole coutry at a time it was given .so it is possible .Here there can be chances of malpractices
