    Man I’m soooooo glad you made this video and it randomly showed up on my feed. I’m on my 1st VW and I just got past 24k miles and I had no idea the haldex and dsg needed regular maintenance intervals at such low mileage till I looked it up after watching this video.
    The closest VW dealership to me is about an hour away, the closest Eurofed is also about an hour away so I’ve been getting my oil changed at the local oil and lube place like I’ve done with all my cars.

      Eurofed in Atlanta? Darko and miki the owners? Small world.

    I’m fully with you on the maintenance part. I know someone that says their Passat wasn’t reliable and that they would never buy a Volkswagen again. I asked what maintenance they did, and of course, they never bothered doing some basic preventative maintenance because they “never had to on their Toyota” 😂

      @savagepandaprojects  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Exactly man! Of course they aren't perfect cars, anything can happen but lots of guys facing consequences for cutting corners!

      Tell me what type of maintenance do I have to do to get rid of the motor oil pressure warning ligth when VW says that my car's engine is perfect? What type of maintenance do I have to do when my car jerks excessively back and forward when I move the drive stick from P to D? What type of maintenance do I have to do to stop an oil leakage at 30K from the crank that vw will not cover because is normal wear? What type of maintenance do I have to do to make my car stop consuming coolant excessively? What type of maintenance do I have to do so my car at randomly stops blowing cold air? What type of maintenance do I have to do to make my low mileage car stop making old car noises when it's fearly new? And the list goes on. If someone tells their VW wasn't reliable I don't blame them. I had 4 of them and 2 of them were bad.

  • @rf6934

    My biggest mistake? Swapping out 18” OEM wheels for 19” wheels that were a 1/2” wider. Wasn’t a problem with my first aftermarket coilover package. But after I swapped out to some other coilovers, the wheels were a bad fitment. Bigger wheels and thinner tires are cool to look at but they don’t drive very well. Once while daily driving years ago I flatted and bent a rim (destroyed the wheel) while crossing over railroad tracks. And because my camber is so horrible I only used the cheapest Chinese tires I could buy. Saving now to buy four OEM+, 18” wheels that I can mount some respectable rubber. My car drives fine now, looks flush but the ride is stiff and I’m forever on the shoulders of my junky tires.

  • @chiquicat1

    Biggest mistake is to buy a car that you can’t afford to maintain. I.e. if you have a temp job and live with your parents you should not be driving around in an Audi, neither should you if you have an average salary 😂

    • @savagepandaprojects
      @savagepandaprojects  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's similar to how the MK7 GTI is over here with the manual transmission I would assume probably need a clutch upgrade since most guys get slippage at stage 1 on stock clutches

    What did you say after plugs and coils. Hallidex pump ? What is it and what service is required. Done everything else.

    • @savagepandaprojects
      @savagepandaprojects  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was referring to Haldex service (Golf R, S3, TT, all track etc.) Simple fluid exchange and a filter screen to clean. Sometimes Haldex pumps fail but mainly I'm trying to get the point across you have to maintain your AWD systems

      Ahhhh man, super sports probably another one for the list... I could have gone on all day i guess lol. Have you thought about B8 shocks? Rode in a MK7 the other days on springs it was rather painful NGL. I'm used to the air suspension on the S6 now lol

      The damage was nuts, strut just went right through the knuckle and into the axle after hitting a minor pothole at 120km/hr. (Posted limit haha) My whole front suspension and axle is getting replaced by the dealership... could have been so much worse for me
