You go girl! I was posting immediately on twitter and You Tube that we got new furnace filters as soon as we came home and I washed all of my bedding. We cut 3'x3' squares out of our old furnace filters as evidence and I saved the white cloth towels that I used to clean off my car and the table on my front porch. I bagged and dated the evidence of the black soot from the smoke. I put my name and address on the bags. We may need it in the future for law suits. Everything that you said about what you experienced is exactly what we are going through. I've been to the DR. and my adult son as he lives a block from where this happened. My throat and glands were swollen & burning by the second night. The toxic smells were not noticed by us until after late afternoon because the night of the derailment all of the smoke seem to be going into Beaver County, PA. By the next day the fire and smoke changed direction from the wind and the fumes and soot clouds were moving over the red church and our house. I stepped outside to take a breath and I backed up into the house and told my husband we had to leave now .I went down into the basement to get clothes out of the dryer and the smell was in the basement and making it's way into the house. I live across from the police and fire station and it has been insane with reporters and officials all over town.

I'm an environmental specialist focusing on emissions of VOC's. I've ran multiple multimillion dollar contracts at the 3rd largest production facility in the world. You need to move now, pack and leave. No one should be living there. It'll take 10yrs to make that area safe and that's IF they put the necessary clean up in place which should include vapor lock system, incinerators and scrubbers installed on site. You are currently still being exposed. Vinyl Chloride when burned converts to Hydrogen Chloride which is highly water seeking. It'll pull water out of the atmosphere and convert to Hydrochloric Acid. And then settle everywhere. Small particulates you won't even know you've taken in. Cloth masks will not work as the molecules are smaller than those masks block. I'm not joking, and this isn't an exaggeration. This is known when it comes to Vinyl Chloride, you can't even legally burn it off because of this. That area is NOT safe!

Union workers owed 73B from years back. Hiring inexperienced workers is everywhere..this is a major national issue if safety is not addressed. If my memory serves me correctly big Corp and government obligated themselves after union, for the safety of all of us for three years kept working without their promised pay and without safety issues resolved. Something is seriously wrong that no media is mentioning this. Rail road unions have been in place for several decades. We all want to go home to our families safely and pay our bills. So do they. I'm not sure calling representatives is going to help. Get the word out about the Truth. This exceeds politics. It is government and big Corp doing what they should have: paid their experienced employees. The topic is so uncirculated. Why?

Drones could be utilized to help citizens identify which are the dangerous or safe area of East Palestine Ohio. I understand that drones used in Ukraine help identify radiation zones from the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. I think such drones could help the citizens of East Palestine Ohio with their disaster as well. Drones could help identify the most dangerous areas and for people to stay away, especially from those areas. The same technology can pin-point the extent of overall damage in Ohio and Pennsylvania. It could provide useful information to help identify communities affected and the type of response and issues could be addressed from such data collected.
