Quite a bit different from the dreadful Task Force version, and the changes seem to be for the better. I can see why the designer was irritated enough to print his own unmodified version. Makes me feel bad for vilifying the poor guy all these years when I should have been blaming TFG. The militia mechanic is interesting and quite clever, the way you replace the "no recruits" chits will lead to steadily decreasing odds of scraping up more troops over time.
