I never tried it without the liquid smoke. It is always worth the experiment, though. Add a bit of oil instead of liquid smoke and see how it works out for you. This recipe was meant to resemble smokehouse almonds that you buy in stores, and they are expensive to buy.😃
Hi. Unlike the store-bought smoked almonds, this is such a wonderful way to make my own with just a few simple ingredients. Just a quick question, what is the purpose of adding flour? Thanks .
@tastyeatsbytess1570 if I end up trying soon, I'll let you know how it went. Thanks for putting up your video. Have you tried other flavors like sweets or garlic or anything else?
@tastyeatsbytess1570 so I smoked some almonds today. I kept the smoker between 275 and 300. They didn't come out as good as I'd hoped. They seem less crunchy than store bought. I didn't use flour and some pieces don't have a very good seasoning. I need to try your recipe exactly to see how they come out. I have a feeling a longer cook on the smoker might dry them out a bit more. 40 minutes isn't a lot of time for something so dense to absorb much smoke flavor either. I have a feeling the store bought stuff uses liquid smoke as well. I'll have to try a few more methods to see how I can improve.
@Stu A It's great you tried the smoker method and thanks for letting me know how it turned out. Tell me what you think of the oven method. I really love them.😃

Nice, easy recipe and not long winded. I'll be giving this a try. Thanks for posting!
Thanks! Yes, give it a try! My family loves it! It goes fast!😃
I just made these, adding a tablespoon of cinnamon and a splash of vanilla. Absolutely delicious! I will be making more of these!
I am happy you like them! I will try cinnamon and vanilla, too! Thanks!😃👍
Thanks so much! I have been looking for this recipe! Yay🙏🙏🙏
Glad you like it!😃
thx
Love this recipe! Thanks! Only suggestions? She says in the video teaspoons and the written recipe reads tablespoons. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing that. For some reason I missed that error. It is updated now. Have a great day!
Can you omit the smoke flavorings and go through the same process?

Thank you. Is the flour "All purpose" or "Almond flour"?
Hi Bernie. It is all-purpose flour. They are really good. Let me know how it turns out for you.😃
I'm going to try this. I'm going to ask people to try my nuts in their mouth. After laughing I will give them a bag.
Good video. Please can I ask: will this recipe work with blanched almonds? Much appreciation from the U.K. 🇬🇧
I have never made it with blanched almonds. It is certainly worth trying, though.😃

The flour gives it the same look and feel as the store bought ones. You will love it!
I meant to say store bought
@@tastyeatsbytess1570😅😂 We got what u were saying. 😏👌🏾
Great question fam C 👍🏾
Could I add white pepper to the salt flour mix?
Good question! Pepper might be nice in it, but it might change the Smokehouse Almond flavor. Try it original first, and then try it with Pepper. 😃
good job. Thanks
Thank you so much!!!!😃
Have you tried this with a smoker for the last cook? 270 for 20-30 min would be easy to do.
No, I have not tried that yet but I will check that out. Thanks

Were those almonds raw or were they already roasted when you bought them
They are roasted during cooking time only.😃
This video is about 4 minutes too long. Editing is your friend.
Thanks for your comment, I will keep that in mind 😀
I thought the length of the video was quite good, actually. Very informative.
What do you mean by 280 degrees? Are you referring to celsius or fahrenheit?
Fahrenheit is the temperature used here in Canada and the US for stoves. Sorry, it was not mentioned in the video.

@Adam Mandler Thank you for the information. I will work on that. It is great to hear from you and to get tips to help my channel. 😃
My daughter is gluten free, so I used cornstarch (corn flour) instead of wheat flour. Turned out amazing!
So glad to hear that it worked out well for you!😃
