Just a tip: when you get on a run and start tipping the dealer, “cap” your bet with the same amount you’re tipping. When you win, just keep using the “cap” amount to tip. That way you don’t have to keep changing chips for a tip. I do this all the time.
The dealer has to hit until their hand is 17 or higher. The player doesn't have to, So the dealer has a 16, and must hit, even if they are beating the player, That is why a 3 - 6 is considered a "Bust card" because the dealer is more likely to hit, get a 10 and bust out.
If he wins the hand, the dealer wins both - this initial bet and the winning bet. If he would have loss, the “house” vs the dealer would have gotten the chip.
