What a great place to be. I Did my IDC at Sairee Cottage and definitely made the right choice with this one. People at SC are super nice and very professional. They have a separated boat for the training Dives witch makes thing a lot more uncomplicated. Definitely in the top 3 of Koh Taos Dive Centers. Happy to come back anytime

Hi ... all sounds good! Just a couple of suggestions from someone who did his Divemaster (DM) about 8 years ago.. 1) If possible try to do some "fun diving" with the Instructor you are considering. This way you can be sure you get along well and he/she is someone you can respect and learn effectively from. At this stage you don't need to tell them you are thinking of doing the DM course with them. Just watch their normal behaviour and consider their approach to safety. 2) I did most of my previous courses before DM in the UK in the sea, to provide challenging conditions. BUT for my DM course I went to Dahab in the Red Sea. It is just about the most popular place on the planet for new diver training. (Plus it's warmer ;-). But the real point is that they teach 7 days a week. This means you can get all the practice you need in a concentrated period of time. The place I chose normally runs the course over around 2 to 3 weeks, but because I wanted a great deal of practice I spent 5 weeks doing my DM. Hope these comments help not only yourself but others considering taking their PADI training to the Pro route

If you mean clear the regulator (purge it of water). In recreational diving like this, not very often. Really any time the reg leaves your mouth you'll want to clear it to some extent, you don't want to breathe water. Basically if you swap to your buddy's alternate, to your alternate, or anytime your reg comes out of your mouth. If you mean clean it (like to get debris out), I rinse mine after every dive in anything (pool included) and it should be professionally serviced roughly every year or 100 dives (user manual will give greater detail on your reg specifically). If I need to clean a reg during a dive (like you puked or got sand in it) there are two options IMO: 1) swap to your alternate, swish some water through, purge it, swap back and see if that cleaned whatever out or 2) swap to your alternate, call the dive, clean it properly on the surface. It's worth noting if it's puke you can exhale hard or hit your purge, puke is a liquid so it'll act like water in your reg. Enjoy chumming, hopefully the fish like it as much as you do. Hi Carolina, You rarely have to clear your regulator from water when you scuba dive. However, in some rare cases you might get some water in the regulator, because you might be smiling or you want to take out your regulator from your mouth (maybe to adjust something or to take a cool picture). To clear it is very easy by using the blast method or/and purge method. Hi Cem, Some people (like myself) wear contact lenses. You can choose to perform the skill with your eyes open or closed. I like to show to my students that you can easily do it with your eye's closed so they don't have to be scarred losing their contact lenses. If you want to demo it with your eye's open, then that is also fine.

Hi ... all sounds good! Just a couple of suggestions from someone who did his Divemaster (DM) about 8 years ago.. 1) If possible try to do some "fun diving" with the Instructor you are considering. This way you can be sure you get along well and he/she is someone you can respect and learn effectively from. At this stage you don't need to tell them you are thinking of doing the DM course with them. Just watch their normal behaviour and consider their approach to safety. 2) I did most of my previous courses before DM in the UK in the sea, to provide challenging conditions. BUT for my DM course I went to Dahab in the Red Sea. It is just about the most popular place on the planet for new diver training. (Plus it's warmer ;-). But the real point is that they teach 7 days a week. This means you can get all the practice you need in a concentrated period of time. The place I chose normally runs the course over around 2 to 3 weeks, but because I wanted a great deal of practice I spent 5 weeks doing my DM. Hope these comments help not only yourself but others considering taking their PADI training to the Pro route

When would you need to clean the regulator? Assume if you throw up, any other instance? (Facing down) could you just purge instead?
If you mean clear the regulator (purge it of water). In recreational diving like this, not very often. Really any time the reg leaves your mouth you'll want to clear it to some extent, you don't want to breathe water. Basically if you swap to your buddy's alternate, to your alternate, or anytime your reg comes out of your mouth.
If you mean clean it (like to get debris out), I rinse mine after every dive in anything (pool included) and it should be professionally serviced roughly every year or 100 dives (user manual will give greater detail on your reg specifically). If I need to clean a reg during a dive (like you puked or got sand in it) there are two options IMO: 1) swap to your alternate, swish some water through, purge it, swap back and see if that cleaned whatever out or 2) swap to your alternate, call the dive, clean it properly on the surface. It's worth noting if it's puke you can exhale hard or hit your purge, puke is a liquid so it'll act like water in your reg.
Enjoy chumming, hopefully the fish like it as much as you do. Hope this helped, happy to explain more if you would like.

You rarely have to clear your regulator from water when you scuba dive. However, in some rare cases you might get some water in the regulator, because you might be smiling or you want to take out your regulator from your mouth (maybe to adjust something or to take a cool picture).

Hi Cem,
Some people (like myself) wear contact lenses. You can choose to perform the skill with your eyes open or closed. I like to show to my students that you can easily do it with your eye's closed so they don't have to be scarred losing their contact lenses.
If you want to demo it with your eye's open, then that is also fine.
