I had these four o'clock flowers at my childhood house in Burma. Then I saw them popping up every summer in front of a house in a street in W1 which I passed on my way to the Regent Park for many years. I also saw them in a monastery in Sienna, Italy in 2004. Then three years ago, they mysteriously appeared in the community garden that I started in July 2007. I was overjoyed! It is also called မဥၨဴပန္းပန္း Nyctaginaceae (ပုုရႏၷဝါမ်ိဳးရင္း). I love its delicate fragrance.

I don't think I ever listened to this song from the beginning to the end as some parts of the song are new to my ears.... but I was very familiar with "lay nar yee hote pyi hote pyi" -- we used to scream out that phrase and run around when we were playing as kids but couldn't remember why we did that haha :)

I remember it as a track from the film "Akyaw Amaw", one of Kyi Kyi Htay's earlier films when she awaits her husband's return home from work. Wonderful gifted actress, one of many who started on the stage as traditional dancing actresses, but one of the best loved.

It spreads freely due to relatively warm weather in London & the flowers are very beautiful. I have few plants now because they take lots of spaces & grow very quickly. My garden is paved & I have to grow them in a pot. Now there are very few flowers on the plants to take some picture for my video. It likes sunny position & south facing garden.
