Huge congratulations on the big 1k subs, it is so so well deserved from the sheer amount of extremely high quality music you put out. I love the overture-like prelude with some quite significant dissonance which is quite cool! Also love the held pedal notes in the fugue.
I very much like the composition, and I like the idea of playing it on an organ, but this particular organ sound set seems lacking -- does it only have 1 stop available? (On the other hand, could be worse -- at least it isn't the Fokker organ, an actual acoustic organ that has 2 stops for each of pedal and 2 manuals, but they somehow all sound harsh and asthmatic at the same time.)
Unfortunately, the only way I managed to include multiple organ registers into a single score (in MuseScore 3, at least) was by having two instruments on the mixer instead of just one. In this case, both manuals have been rendered by using the same soundbank, whereas the pedalier part required a different line altogether. On hindsight I shall admit I could have applied the same process to the 2nd manual in order to enrich the sound even further, so I certainly will make sure to include said changes in the revised, final version. Thank you kindly for pointing that out.
@@Lucius_Chiaraviglio It does, but unfortunately there appears to be no way to automate it, thus making the whole process extremely cumbersome and imprecise to pull off manually. Regarding your original comment, I took into account your feedback when rendering the final version by adding a different register for the 2nd manual, as can be seen (or heard, rather) in the following post: www.youngcomposers.com/t45679/prelude-and-fugue-in-d-minor/
@@FugaxContrapunctus Does it let you do the equivalent of having a hand switch manuals on the fly (also really needed for some harpsichord music), or is that just as hard as trying to change registration on the fly?
If the setup for the manuals belonged to the same instrument, say, a simple keyboard with the exact same register, I guess the possibility of switching hands, and thus, voices between manuals would be possible. With a tripartite instrument setup, however, the voice-switching within the staff appears to be impossible, so yes, it's basically as hard to pull off as the former option you proposed.
ggs on 1k subs, and this sounds AMAZING on organ
