    In an era of sometimes machine-like perfection, here is heart and soul as well as technique. Thank you for this masterful and moving, poignant performance.
    What a blessing to hear...

    Interpretazione straordinariamente impressiva! Trasuda sentimento , animosità e leggerezza in ogni singola nota. Debussy ne sarebbe orgoglioso. Complimenti infiniti

    C’est trop beau. Je me sens les emotions détaché de les choses qui les cause normalement. C’est vrai de beaucoup de musique classique, mais de Debussy spécialement.

    드뷔시만이 표현할 수 있는 서정, 감미로운 격정이 미묘하고도 부드럽게 출렁거린다.
    Only Debussy can express such a sentiment.Subtly and softly dances the sweet and strong emotion.This pianist grasped it ...so beautiful.

    nice playing, but i am so confused at mm. 21 and 23, this should be G7, correct?? i hear B-flat AND B-natural. the score says B-flat, but many others play B-natural. perhaps you decided to do both?

    • @alger3041
      @alger3041 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have always played B natural at that point despite what's in the score. It makes more sense, and many artists feel the same way about it.

    • @1bol1
      @1bol1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** It does not sound 'Debussy' if you play B-natural, I think. The B-flat supports the ambiguity that is an essential part of the symbolist music and poetry.

    • @alger3041
      @alger3041 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1bol1 I don't know how you came up with that idea or how it originated with you, but I will tell you that I will only respect your preference for the B Flat in that spot if you have spent a very long time with that piece, and then decided for yourself that the B Flat works better (for you).
      it does not speak to me in that form, despite all efforts on my part to hear it the way others who prefer it that way do. It definitely falls flat for me (no pun intended). And especially being that others share my viewpoint and feel he same way, I will go on playing a B Natural at that point.
      I do not respect that preference of B Flat if it is based on some pre-conceived idea of what Debussy should sound like, or any symbolism external to the music itself. I am only interested in how the music would progress and thus sound naturally.

    • @1bol1
      @1bol1 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** Well, he wrote b-flat. There's lots of b-flats moments before, and there are lots of b-flats moments after. The C dominant chord that comes directly after contains a b-flat. Keeping the b-flat in the G-chord creates the dorian modality. Debussy wrote alot in modality and he was a strong proponent of breaking the rules. If this would have been Chopin, I would have agreed with you.

    • @1bol1
      @1bol1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      1bol1 Debussy often makes these kinds of ambiguities. The prime example of tonal or modal ambiguity is Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun. That's what I mean when I say that it does not sound 'Debussy'.
