I visited Ghana many years ago and met 2 beautiful young women they braided my hair in the fastest time ever, no pain. They came to my hotel room and there was no pulling or tugging during the process. The braids were so beautifully done I had minimal discomfort the first night. When I paid them they were so thankful because I paid more than they charged me. I totally agree the women knew exactly what they were doing, you would never know 2 women were braiding at the same time, these women are experts ❤ btw you look beautiful 😍
My bestie is Ghanaian American and when she went to Ghana and came back with the tiniest braids I've ever seen...she said it only cost $5 usd but this was decades ago so to hear braid price have increased is still a great deal vs. The American prices they charge now.

It looks sooo good, I am doing my own hair myself because the way the prices are set up here in America wheewwww. I just did my faux locs myself and it came out bomb, saved $400-$600. My goal is to learn knotless. Once I do yeah I won’t be visiting salons anymore because services are bad and prices are high.
I visited Nigeria and 12 cities within the country during my stay. I went to a salon to have a pedicure. It was amazing not like in the States as far as the running water and the massage chairs. But the attention the ladies gave me while massaging and pretty much ensuring I was okay. It made me feel special. I then had my hair micro braided…just like you they washed and two ladies braided. I looked like a million dollars afterward and tip everyone who took part with the process…down to the wash girl to the braiders and others who were part of the little shop. The total cost of my hair then was $40.00 USD. I paid them of course in Naira there currency. A great experience. ❤️💯

I am loving your natural hair the thickness is real. I was scared when the young lady was detangling your hair, glad you told her detangle ends to root. The braids were amazing, uniform and so neat. Were the braids heavy?

Unless they braid extra tight that would pull too much and you do it consistently, you won't lose hair beyond what you would normally shed per day (about 100-150 hairs a day). It always looks like a lot because the hair is trapped in the braid for however long you keep them. I've had braids multiple times and I've never had issues, but we also have to keep in mind that no one is the same. I say find someone who knows how to make knot less braids, those are less rough on the scalp, in my opinion. Good luck!!!

My braidtician charges $50 for ombré alone. Not including length fees and general cost of braids. It’s normally $375 for small knotless back length. Your hair looks great!!
Really nicely done. There are cheaper spots. Most of us locals won't pay that much. Not beyond GH¢300.00 for box braids. But i guess compared to the charges in the US, it's really a steal.

It's still very inexpensive by American standards. I have been in Ghana since 2010 and get my hair regularly braided.
