I've always been wondering about these PF2000 performances. Thanks for your videos. :-)

Great! Your FM sound museum has become epic! Congratz! Do you know who programmed those patches originally, by any chance? Are they somewhere floating around on the web? Some seem to me like well known old friends, others feel quite newish, sort of. But perhaps this is only great Perf programming and CS slider trickery. Is there fractional tuning data on that cartridge?

What's crazy is- this really just scratches the surface. I don't actually know who programmed these but assume it was one or more of the usual suspects (Bristow, Leuenberger, Fernandez, Polich, maybe Bo Tomlyn?) Some of the piano sounds are really similar to those "A11" DX patches in the Manny banks. But that's just my best guess. Hoping one of them will chime in. Yes, there does seem to be a fractional bank on the cart. At some point I will do a compare/contrast video, but I can tell you there are many repeated patches and a bunch of new ones. BUT something you should also know is many of the DX7ii patches came from the later DX7 mark 1 cartridges. That's another project as well, speedrunning the OG carts.

@@12opsynths I really love your work, collecting and presenting those patches. You should get in contact with Anthony Marinelli for an interview (did you see his latest John Chowning interview yesterday?), I’d love to see you in his show talking about your discoveries and those specific differences in sound between different generations of FM synths. It’s basically your content that made me collect FM synths and patches on my own, owning now DX7Centennial, TX816, TX802, TX7, CE20, CE25, Korg DS8, 707 and some more modern synths with FM capabilities like Nonlinear Labs C15, Nord G2, ASM Hydrasynth and so on. Even made my own replicas of some classic Manny Fernandez patches for the G2, for taking them on tour with my band…

PS I *think* this is in the black winny download somewhere- however recreating carts with fractionals is a challenge. Also the performances reference CART patches- so if you copy to internal memory, you will need to recreate part of every performance.
