I gave my children's bedrooms a deep deep clean got rid of everything they didn't play with or want. I have a rule now if they bring something out of their room they are to take it back and put it away, anything laying around goes in the bin it's working so far, I have started on our bedroom nothing belonging in a bedroom has to find a place in the house or it's gone. Walking into those rooms brings me peace and I know the rest of the family are enjoying how calmer I'm feeling. It's a long journey I know I will get to the end.

I’m so glad I found your channel!!! I’m so sick of watching these “watch me clean this disaster” and literally they have 3 pieces of mail on the counter and a Starbucks. Hope you don’t take offense to that! I feel this is what half of homes really look like.

I was just about to write the same thing!!! Influencers with minimalist homes that do a declutter video and all they have is a book on the table and a pair of shoes in the living room. This video is honest and real and just what I need to motivate me!

    • @kylieschamens3825

I just subscribed for that exact reason above. Those perfect influencer homes feel like an impossible standard. I'm a working mom, so there's no way I can work full-time and household full-time. I can only do so much.

Just got my home back, my mom had been living with us for the last two years, she is not disabled, and is 68 years old, she just wanted to live with us so she didn't have to cook or clean. She made a huge mess and it was too much for me, my hubby noticed she was being emotionally and verbally abusive towards me (he works graveyard so he sleeps during daytime and doesn't get to see or hear a lot) he finally saw a lot when he got covid and had to stay home. So he told her she needed to find another place to live. My younger brother who is 43 went with her. Now we are going through both of those rooms and the bathroom. It feels good to declutter all of the stuff they left behind and to deep clean everything. Even washing the walls. It is like Cleaning out the negative feelings and letting go. Also the house is feeling so much airier and lighter. The energy is positive.

Thank you for these videos. Between my anxiety and depression, I really struggle with cleaning my home. My OCD makes me think that if it can’t be 100% perfect, I can’t do it at all. I was just able to tackle a really embarrassingly bad part of my kitchen- something I’ve been putting off for months. These videos give me encouragement to get things done little by little!

First step is not cleaning, is declutter and stop spending money in things you don't need ... do you colect wooden spoons, cutting tables, scissors? How many mugs does a family need? We are 4 at home and have 6 mugs. Just have to wash dishes everyday, so easy

As far as the craft items, you can always try and donate to a preschool if you feel like they have some value and you don’t want to just throw them away. Then again if that just takes too much effort and it stays in the house longer, just get rid of it.

good luck on your journey! sadly people have sooo much stuff they never or very seldom use and the kicker is they often continue to buy stuff they don't really need and cram their houses and closets full, plastics, gadgets, clothes, until they need even more space for useless stuff, it's overwhelming. It's a vicious cycle. It's bad for their mental health, for their finances and for the environment. Watched a documentary once of a company who goes into dead peoples homes to clear them out and relatives often want less than 5% of their belongings, so 95% goes straight into the trash.

Sometimes having a lot of things can make it hard to be organised.
If you're overwhelmed start small. One room at a time. Sort the room and find a spot for everything. If it doesn't have a spot, don't keep it.
Don't try to tackle it all at once or it'll feel to much.
    Happy cleaning everyone.

Hi Laura, so good to see you're back! ❤ I missed your videos so much and I can't wait to see that decluttering video and the live streams! When you're cleaning, I almost feel like my home is being at least half cleaned at the same time 😀 Keep up the good work! Love, Minna from Finland

The thing about decluttering is it never ends, it gets easier and more minimal but as we move through life we end up with stuff and it needs upkeep. I do it per season or when an area is getting on my nerves. That kitchen especially looks amazing now

Your selection of music is 🎯 🎶 and your words of affirmation are truly heart-felt💖 Taking time off social media/videos is sometimes necessary. We ladies often struggle with self care. We have to remember we can't pour from an empty cup.

I'm so glad to see you back, don't feel bad about taking time off to take care of yourself❤ I love a good rage clean; it's so satisfying in the moment! My only problem is all the movement flares up my chronic illnesses and I'm in a lot of pain afterwards, but at least my house feels a little less overwhelming while I'm recovering.

I know this video is from 2 months ago , but I just wanted to let you know that I was just watching it while cleaning and your words have really inspired me. About how therapeutic cleaning is for anxiety and depression, I’ve been going through a pretty bad episode lately and haven’t cleaned in so long. Last week I started trying to push through it and little by little I’ve been making progress and decluttering but sometimes I forget how much better it feels to get it all done no matter how difficult it is to get started. I love this video because you reminded me all of that. Thank you ❤️

Oh this cleaning was amazing! My english is not the best, but I hope you all understand me😅when i was a child, our house was a mess most of the time, because my Mama was depressed too i think, but she never talked about it..anyway she was and is the best mum i could Image.I am the complete opposite and clean everyday and sometimes i have to stop myself not doing so much. That sucks too, when you are not able to relax,so i work on it.
You are great Laura,i wish you the best ❤️ god bless you and your loved ones

I clean my stove probably 98% of the time but ever since getting a gas stove I dread it. I still do it but I hate it because of the grates. Mine are three long ones bc it’s a five burner. Blame not cleaning your stove on the grates because they are a good excuse!!!

Wow! I'm so glad you finally got rid of cups you don't use!!! That cabinet looks so much better.
People always gifted my mom mugs for Christmas, but she got rid of 80% of them a few years ago and her kitchen is so much easier to navigate around. And she moved like four Christmas mugs to the bottom of one of her kitchen shelves, and she gets them out for Christmas eve every year to make us hot coco. You don't need mugs out all year round. Your cabinet seriously looks so much more functional and practical. The cabinet looks so much better! I think she only has two mugs in her cabinet because she just cleans the one she uses every morning so she uses the same one and has one for guests. Makes sense.

Not being negative at all, just coming from a perspective of a single mom on a budget...so I love norwex cleaning clothes over the paper towels- way more effective 😀 also, I use an enzyme cleaner that's odorless & even edible..spray on stove/microwave & give it 5 minutes soak 😉wipes right off. Thanks for your motivation & tips!!

So sorry about your loss, I know this is an old video. You sound excited about some new things going on in your life. That’s great! It’s 3:45 a.m. and I am awake watching you. I have done some paperwork like paying bills. If I can get to sleep I have plans on cleaning out my fridge and cleaning off my kitchen counters. Then I can mop the kitchen floor. I should be able to this all in one day and still make some dinner. I am telling myself I will not be as depressed if I get all of that done. Next clean the living room and dust. I love that you are doing Green Chief, and hope it continues to work for you. Blessings to you and all of your subscribers! ❤

Your comment is very timely- I think we are a hoarding humanity. The more we have the more disorganized we get n that makes us lose what we had so we buy more. Asaahhhhh. I am also not consistent. After 40 yes of being married I can only fix the worst bad habits- can’t be perfect. 😄
    Great job!! Kudos to you!

Just observation, because I've been there. I see a full cabinet of cups and I see you still filled the entire top of dishwasher.
Getting rid of half of those and cutting it back to two total loads of dishes is a game changer. Meaning one load of dishwasher filled with cups, plates bowls eating spoons/forks. (That's one load full) then one load of pots pans.
Anything more than that is really excess and only allows us to pile dirty dishes. This way you have a constant cycle daily. Of clean/dirty and never overflowing.

I want to tell you what helps me. Soon as I get up, I shower. Then, I grab everything that I can and throw it in the washer. I start my cleaning and I feel like I've killed three birds with one stone. It doesn't matter if I have 20 pieces of laundry in the washer or 10 pieces. It's that way of saying that I'm getting things done. While they're washing, I get busy.

New subscriber, I love cleaning videos motivation. I liked that you've filmed while emptying the kitchen trash around 15:00 and even dumped the bag in a larger one haha I always find it so satisfying to see anything get discarded while cleaning and the trash emptied and taken away from home. Also because I struggle to discard many things like any old clothes that can't be donated so I always hope someone will need to discard one of those things to give me motivation when they film that part 🤭

To give you more space where ur dining table is you should put the short end of the table against the bannister and it create more room and a flooring affect in that area.
