As a short, older rider that loves the pull-back risers, I think they are the best thing on the market for someone like me. They change my ergonomics for sure by reducing muscle fatigue and increasing my ability to add leverage to the bars when needed. But there is no real change to the mechanical portion of the motorcycle. It's not like lowering the rear shock and leaving the forks in the same position, or changing tire size for aesthetics, which does change the geometry. Risers just makes it easier for the vertically challenged rider (me) to reach the controls and enjoy the ride.😄 We can't all be 6' dudes.

Taking time to adjust the controls to best fit you will make you a more efficient rider for sure. Especially if the changes allow you to ride with less fatigue.
Some riders will say forward or backward movement of the handlebars will result in changes in the riders seated (or standing) position.
These changes alter the center of gravity and handling.
I feel that as long as the rider has spent the time to set the bike up as best they can to make the ride more comfortable and not just for
      aesthetics then ride on👍🏻

i am 5.3' started riding at 24 yrs now 26 and most of my riding techniques have been adopted from watching YT Videos and practicing on the dirt road (lots of them on sub saharan africa KENYA in particular ) there are no many offroad adv instructors or classes around here so most of the time i rely on quality videos to push my skill to the next level...though i am not active on the comment section i have watched almost every video on this channel and it has really helped me on my offroad riding techniques ...i currently ride a gs 800 with some offroad modes ...thanks ADVmotoskillZ

I just added pullback risers on my GS a few weeks ago and didn't see a significant change to the handling of the bike on road. I just took it off pavement twice in the last few days and what a difference! My shoulders, arms and thighs don't ache like they used to after a few hours in the dirt. Like you stated in the video, I don't have to reach for the bars or bend my knees as much while standing. The other mod that has really made off-roading more enjoyable was adding the AltRider pegs. I had PivotPegz previously, but the platform didn't even cover half of the width of my boot. The AltRider pegs cover almost the entire width and are way more comfortable while standing for long periods. And since they don't pivot, they actually increase the control and leverage I have while steering with my feet on the loose stuff.

That is great! Glad to hear your egos are feeling better, it make such a difference. Especially the bigger foot pegs👍

    Nice episode!
    I have a condition called
Spondylolisthesis in my lower back. Therefore, I also really benefit from the more upright riding position. And being short, they help me reach the bars. But yes, the bike handles better without.

With chronic conditions we have to to get creative sometimes on finding what works best.

My ktm 390 adventure is notorious for low bars and bad foot pegs. I'm already tall at 6'1" and standing up off-road was ridiculous. Upgraded with bar risers and lowered foot pegs is much better for me.

Those sound like good chamges for you. 👍 Being more comfortable on the bike will certainly lead to more confidence when riding!

What kind of seat are you using?

@@brahmdeschaux6236 it is the standard seat that came with the bike. I take the passenger seat off so that I can move my hips back and low when riding off-road.

Nice. I am over 50 years and have a riser. Sadly we need a damn official approval with certificates about tons of informations who allows me to use. Germany sucks.
