How to remove the centre dash console / radio on Smart car ForTwo 450 dashboard

- In this video we show how to remove the center dashboard console on a Smart Car 450 ForTwo. You need to do this before remove the main dashboard or if you want to get to the cigarette lighter wiring for fitting a dash cam etc. We did this real time on one take so you can see step by step how to do the job and it only takes 10 minutes !

And so you should. I’m not really interested in the smart car, but I do enjoy all of your videos and how much effort you put into them. So when you identify and colour code your fasteners just to make it easier on all of your car, you do deserve praise, as referenced at timeline 7.14. As always a valiant effort. Also I enjoyed your lighthearted video on this Smart car with the rust patina, maybe (Sin City American car show). Just to take peoples mind of our current predicament, I think is good, well done.

Thank you, I’m removing my dashboard soon as I bought a nice leather Brabus edition dash on eBay, I’m waiting to see you do it before I start, not because I lack confidence but just because you make such detailed videos that I know it will save me a lot of time. I expect I will upgrade the speakers while I’m down there.. the factory ones are truly awful.
I particularly like the detailed explanation on how to remove connectors, it’s great to know in advance how the things come apart.. I’m starting to get the impression that you have an engineering background.
Yep - i have a degree in Engineer and i am a chartered mechanical engineer... i come from a family of engineers.... my grandfather was an engineer with Rolls Royce Aero engines and my father was an engineer on Concord and lectured Engineering....not sure if George will follow he likes psychology .. my daughter is really good at maths and physics !

On the safety triangle plug connectors, don't the white bits just pop out leaving the black outers in place? I resoldered my clock recently and just unclipped the white part
What kinda wire harness did u use for the stereo. Im looking to upgrade mine in my 2006 passion cdi and I cant find one

very true ... one time i actually was working on one of the cars and the screws were already orange.. i was surprised... i had forgotten i had done the job before !
