Mam, wanted to share a feedback here. Tutorial was clear cut and the way you had explained is so easy to understand for dummies like me 😜. I completed this basket and came out well. Felt like we should have cut the wire 1 ft more to have the length of the basket raised so that the capacity of the small basket would have slightly increased and used the whole one roll wire. For some reason, the centre wire is very short in length after completing the basket so we attached a piece of wire to insert in the basket...

Here, we need to focus both the design and basket size. So we cant take 1 ft more to use the whole one roll because we are using 2 Colors to get the checkered design. My suggestion is, practice weaving more baskets ,so that you will get more idea about making big baskets by changing measurements accurately
Next, you told that centre wire is short, i assume that you mentioned one of the height wire (not running wire),
we have cutted all the 20 wires for 5 ft so only one wire shortage is not possible in this type basket (Only pos in Crosscut)
May be, while making knots, you have pulled the wire slightly more than the other sides.
