People hit the panic button too soon. The MLB has a super LONG season so they got time to bounce back. The yankees lineup now is fine. They need to trade Gleyber, Alex and DJ. If they can lock up Soto long term, it will be great. Then they'll have a great farm system as usual to develop young stars (I wouldnt trade them if i was them). At the very least Spencer Jones and Jaason Dominguez are not an option to trade. Then to have a lineup consisting of 1. Jaason Dominguez 2. Juan Soto 3. Aaron Judge 4. Giancarlo Stanton 5. Jazz Chisholm jr 6. Austin Wells 7. Anthony Volpe 8. Ben Rice 9. Cabrera That's not a bad lineup so people really need to calm down. The absolute BIGGEST thing to do for the Yankees is PITCHING! They need at least one other starting ace to match with Cole and some relievers for when it gets post season time. There pitching allows way to many hits/runs. When the game gets deep, they need a solid reliever to rely on. Rodon has looked better but Idk if I'm convinced he's that #2 guy next to Cole. Garrett from the white sox would fit well, given the asking price isnt to high. Jack from Detroit would work too. Then, add one solid closer/reliever and they’ll be good. Yankees got potential. Those who blame Boone, just dont know or understand baseball. Boone has the respect of Judge and the clubhouse (which is key) and should not go anywhere.
Holmes has blown 7 saves. That is horrible. Win 7 and not lose 7 that is one heck of a change in the record. If I calculate it properly that is a 14 game swing. Holmes is no closer.
