I'm missing one important step in the very beginning. How to physically connect the consol and SoundGreed I/O? If there's a slot for the X-waves-SD9 card to install, where exactly is it located?
Rear of console. You must replace the plain metal panel w/WAVES card,/panel including plugging the card's molex connector, inside the SD9. You must buy this card from DIGICO and it includes complete instructions
I hope this isnt a stupid question. But does the switch need to have a wired connection to internet in the venue for this to work? Or the switch just connects all the digico components together so they can communicate?
You need to be connected to the internet, to install your plugins and licens. But after that, onces set up. No, you dont need a internet connection. As said in the video, you can install the licens on either USB or your IO
Plug in parameters can not be controlled in any way with the console encoders. Is that correct? It all must be done via a mouse or other device connected to the multi rack computer?

one of the latest firmware updates will allow you to control the waves host computer via the touch and turn control on the console

You could just stick to the built-in digico effects and probably make some great sounding mixes. This is just for people with more money than brainds
on a mac these menus do not exist
