Juan will one day be appreciated in the same ballpark as Mozart and Beethoven, one day in the distant future. His use of the sounds truly transcends the instruments he used to create them.
I remember it just like yesterday, September 1989, the Kool Kat (UK) pressing. We played the record repetitive whole evening, dancing and analysing. At that time Detroit techno was avant garde, we felt like the chosen few.
these peope!!!! frisco are the only people who can realy dig house lol....i bet you never had 10,000 people all dancing to it together in one place in frisco...the uk is the place were it was totaly embraced..peroid
I concur, in the UK I have witnessed tens of thousands bopping to this track in outdoor raves on farmers fields. Clubs worldwide could never compete and I've been all over to sample them.
He train wrecks and plays boring disco. Never liked him as a DJ. But he is my favorite producer period. Still makes good music. Been doing it since early 80s. And this is a record he produced not a damned DJ mix. What he is good at is making the records djs play. Selecting them and playing them in sync not so much. Inventor godamned techno music: Juan and kraftwerk. Blows my mind when people hear him DJ and think he sucks not knowing anything about Magic Juan the producer.
One of the best.. Master

ZaPpaul he already is on the same pedestal as Mozart in my opinion.
bless you for saying that!

no, he won't. but that doesn't take anything away from him being an absolute genius. ❤

This is and always will be the first melody that comes to my mind when i hear the name Juan Atkins - A monument of sound and better days.

Its a shame that Juans sets nowadays are so uninspired in comparisson to the music he made 20 years ago....

YYYhaaaa
Sounds like a garage beat from the 2000's, just with much rawer less polished sounds.
Really?
Noidear72 Yes really, to me it does.
Pete S. what?
Pete S. nothing like New York Garage House , nothing like it what so ever.
When I was commenting, I was focusing on the melody rather than the drum beat.
