EVH was such a master of the craft. On top of everything, he was always smiling. He spent his life doing what he truly enjoyed and passionately loved doing.
Showing my age, but I got to see Van Halen at the Tacoma Dome in Wa. St. in 91'. After Alice N Chains opened for them (Also awesome) Eddie came out to perform a 13 minute 'National Anthem' solo! Everything on stage was decked out in his red, white & blck paint striped pattern. Mic stands, speakers, curtains etc. I'll miss Eddie.Always and forever a HUGE fan.
I’ve never seen anyone play live with more joy. Damn it was infectious. He gave us everything he had, and made the impossible look easy. Eddie takes his place among the greatest, in ANY conversation.
Beautiful is definitely the word. Poetry of sound , soul touching , mesmerizing... simply the best guitarist of our time!!!! R.I.P. mr Eddie Van Halen .. you will never be forgotten, your music will live on forever...
That was absolutely beautiful thank you seeing the picture of evh and the abbott brother's I literally burst into tears I thought to myself that's exactly what happened when ed got to heaven dime and vinnie gave him a big hug love you Eddie R.I.P to you dime and vinnie.
Never heard this before. Wow. Very Un Halen... till the guitar breaks in... instantly you know whose fingers those are. And that is why he is the king and untouchable. I've never heard any Van Halen cover that didn't sound empty and void and just all round bad. No one could even imitate him properly. It wasn't attainable. His sound was his and only his. God I truly hope someone led him to Christ before his last breath.
Wow..... this tune was pure gold when released, put to a picture montage of the King ? , truly a beautiful send off for the greatest musician ever, still in full denial.

Eddie and Sammy were in a war with each other at the time. I can sort of understand why. Hagar sings his heart out but looks like he's a domineering leader behind the scenes. Sammy had to be with his wife in Hawaii which allowed Eddie and Alex to exercise full creative control in writing this instrumental work of art. The world gained something really special from that rift
Hurricane Andrew was like a 30 mile Wide tornado and it changed our Lives forever. With wind speeds more than 155 mph. I was there. I even got to be in the eye, the second half was the worst. I tried to open the door to our Home to see what was going on outside. The wind would not let me .Thank God, I might of died. This song is Great. REST IN PEACE FOREVER.
I just wish he hadn't been so reserved and such an introvert. Seriously in order to get that good you gotta put in the work, 20,000 hours before you hit the big time and even then there's no guarantee you'll make it. Some luck talent and a fuck it attitude helps. Purely an outside observation.
Que pena q los valores nuevos dejados por estos genios irónicamente sean ya mayores , Gilbert? Vai? Satriani? Malmstein? perdonenme por fv al dejar de nombrar muchos nombres. Pero todos ellos están sobre los 50 años entonces no hay nuevos valores , la fábrica se cerró? O es q el estilo de música q predomina no permite el surgimiento de nuevos valores.
Les aseguro, hay nuevos valores y la planta no ha cerrado. Es solo que estos recién llegados aún no se han vuelto tan famosos como los genios que mencionaste. Pero son. A finales de los 70 y 80, la música rock y especialmente la música de guitarra tampoco eran los estilos dominantes. Pero estos genios y esta música se abrieron paso hasta la cima. También se abrirán paso nuevos genios. Dale tiempo :)
