Love this!! I have been reading stories to my son over the course of this school year and he grasps so much more than how he was taught in public school before.

I’ve been stuck on what to do ´. I want to do ancient history but I want her to learn the states too. We started homeschooling in middle of 1st grade. We have learned about Abe Lincoln, George Washington, and the pilgrims so far. Vikings we also did. I found a child’s history of the world book so I thought about doing that as it’s short chapters

Thank you for your video! I have been listening to podcasts and trying to find videos on how to better understand Mason’s methods in the realm of history. Can you clarify how you are completing the 6 year rotation? If you start the 6 year rotation in 4th grade, you would make it through each yearly topic once, with second repeat on the ancient years (years 1-3) before the child will have completed there 12th year of school. You had mentioned that you focus more heavily on one’s own country in the last few years, therefore do you just go through the first rotation of the 6 years, and then instead of starting over with the ancient history topics, you start over at the 1600s (year 4) and move towards present time for the final 3 years? I have also heard in a podcast that, you can split the topics into two different lessons once the child reaches upper forms, having 2-3 lessons a week for ones own country, as well as a separate 2-3 lessons a week for ancient history?
Any additional advice/clarification would be greatly appreciated!
