This was a great video. This explains why thoracle consultation is such an unpleasant wincon, it requires zero setup cost, which is why players say “you won out of nowhere”. You don’t even really need to ramp to achieve it! Protecting your combo is just bonus! Really no investment at all
Im looking to get into cEDH and sharpen my EDH skills. I really appreciate the time and effort you are taking to help bridge the gap between casual and competitive
Thank you for a very nice video. I once tried to build a Reyhan and Kydele partner deck. Point was that there are a lot of effects that draw cards in relation to +1/+1 counters or power of creatures. Kydele could then be used to create loads of mana to end the game. Issue was that the deck required to many pieces to work: creatures with counters, sacc outlet, card draw effect and Reyhan in play. However, i figured out that I could remove two of those criteria's by playing clone effects. By cloning rehyan the clone could die due to legend rule (no need for sacc effect) and I would put (at least) 6 +1/+1 counters on any target removing the requirement of having other creatures that generate counters. The clones could also be used fill any gaps in my board state by cloning my opponent's things. The deck runs very smoothly now and is a ton of fun to play.
I’ve been listening to some of your old shows for the last couple of hours, love this channel.
