@@louiselins Thanks so much! I don't know what FATHOM's deal is these last 2 seasons. You used to be able to get at least lead casting early and to comment. Now they only give you the info if it's a re-broadcast. I don't think they understand ballet audiences!
@@minissa2009 I'm right now watching in Sweden. I believed it was Stepanova who was supposed to dance until maybe a week ago when they released this Smirnova voiceover. I only checked the cast yesterday on Bolshoi's website. They are showing Obraztsova in the Sleeping Beauty feature but can I believe she's the March 10th Aurora???
@@louiselins I game with someone in Sweden! Small world. You know, as I watched the trailer, there were places she looked like Genia and places I thought she looked like Smirnova, who headed the cast the last time FATHOM did a Bolshoi Sleeping Beauty. Would love to see Genia on the big screen, as I've watched her as Aurora when the Bolshoi did the reconstruction, but just on YT. I *thought* the Sleeping Beauty was going to be a re-broadcast. Maybe time to start watching the Bolshoi site for casting? May I ask what you thought of the performance? Belyakov was new to me---what a jump! Really liked him. Olga not so much. One of those cases where I can't fault the technique but something about the way the technique and artistry and acting came together just didn't work for me. But I guess Gamzatti is a hard role to nail, easy to have her come off as a spoiled brat and not much more. I'm a Smirnova fan, so happy there. Is the ending meant to suggest Solor dies and ends up in the Kingdom of the Shades? I really prefer the versions that include the destruction of the temple---gives closure and to me makes more dramatic sense. Shades was exquisite.
@@minissa2009 I've being watching Belyakov for a while. Funny was to watch him backstage dancing to the drum dance with the fellow dancers. I like him very much. And looks like he will improve. I must say I was a little nervous for Marchenkova in some sections. Nothing against her and I keep my critiques polite hoping the dancer will improve, it's hard to go there and nail it everyday. However she is not using the basics, jumping using shoulders and neck. I think what you missed on her was that many of them play Gamzatti as that, a girl, a princess. Not an woman, a villain. I'm not the greatest Smirnova fan but I don't dislike her performance. I could seat and enjoy knowing she was giving solid steps with confidence. I liked her Nikiya last night much more than other times. The Russians don't mess with act IV and I understand that Solor gets his pardon and prefers to die in peace than return to and face his mistakes and real life. The romantic escape. I like the Bolshoi broadcasts for all the information they provide, always a pleasure to see Katia Novikova presenting in three languages coming inside from the cold Moscow night! 😂 I will checked Bolshoi cast list as much as possible. GeniaDoll! That would be a dream to see her finally in the movies! Wow, this comment got long!
As bailarinas russas , são seres de outra galáxia.
Моя любимая
Всё таки хочется увидеть настоящую восточную девушку в роли Никии!😊
Anyone know who's dancing Gamzatti or Solor? I'm excited for tomorrow!
Olga Marchenkova and Artemy Belyakov. I think David Motta is the Idol.

😔
This is Eleonora Sevenard dancing, with Smirnova's voice over
This is Yulia Stepanova
Stop casting Smirnova in everything, other ballerinas deserve to shine as well.
kenya ramirez this isn‘t Smirnova- only her voice 😉
