I love Adult Swim shows because they can get away with all sort of things that you couldn't in any other channel.
@Chad High-Five Flexington They also have the advantage of being a cable channel for adult. There are a lot of things they can go away with because they don't need to deal with everybody like a public broadcast channel would. In a way, it's also because of corporate market research. There was a demand and enough people were ready to pay for it to be worth the investment. It's like saying strip clubs are better than family restaurant because they have the guts to show titties.

The funniest thing is that somehow these satirical depictions never target the people who actually enslaved black africans-muslims. Europeans originally just bought their slaves from the islamic slave markets; the muslims were doing the actual slave raids and had been for close to a thousand years. The estimated death toll, by the way, was 5 dead for every slave that actually made it to market. (from people killed in the raids or the subsequent death marches across the sahara) The islamic slave market sold roughly 25 million slaves from 700AD to 1700AD, so do the math. And then islam became a "black" thing in the US, lol.... the sheer irony of converting to the religion that clapped your ancestors in chains is sublime, and the fact that such a rich source of ironic humor is not used out of fear of retaliation from islam-the "religion of peace"-is hilariously ironic in and of itself.
