    You won't hear songs like this nowadays, spiritual, inspirational & doctrinal.

      They’re lip syncing to a record they released in 1957 where Jackie Marshall played the piano. So Wally Varner is in this video but the real playing is of Jackie

    I heard a Bb1 on 2:40, its best to wear subwoofer headphones to hear it, very outstanding 👌

    Thank You very much for posting these. I really love the Blackwood Brothers during the time JD Sumner was with them and before.

      There used to be a 30-minute Christian television program, Young at Heart. I think it was produced sometime in the late 1980's or early 1990's. I used to watch it on channel 38 in Chicago. That show often had The Blackwood Brothers as a guest. I can't find any trace of that show anywhere on the internet. Have you ever heard of it?

    This is a hard song to find. A few church quartets singing the song and one or two by Allison Durham Speer but that's about it. This is gold as far as I'm concerned! Thanks for putting it up!

      I wish more Quartets would sing it. It is my favorite song. I have sang at several funerals, as well as my Fathers funeral.

    Is that live or lip sync?

    • @glennriquito381
      @glennriquito381 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad you asked. It's a lip sync. Notice how, at the very start, the pianist is waiting for a sync cue from the sound man! This was an extraordinarily good singing group. But lip syncs are ALWAYS a bad idea. And this is one of the very worst lip syncs I have ever seen. You can hear clicks and scratches from the record! I remember many years ago seeing a lip sync on live TV, and the record actually got stuck! Check out the clip from 1955 of them singing How About Your Heart. Everything in that clip is real, and you will see an energy level that cannot be achieved in a lip sync.

      @@glennriquito381 Wouldn't that be deception and thus a sin?

      @@saraschneider6781 That's a very good question! I have no concrete answer, but in my opinion I would think of it as a matter of conscience. Some may see it as an (unsuccessful!) attempt to make themselves sound better than they really are, and others may see it as merely an attempt to produce a better artform. I'm glad that God and only God can judge. I would certainly fail trying to do His job -- even worse than satan.
