We have both a 2023 Bolt EUV Premier and a 2023 Mach E California. If we had gotten the Bolt first, we’d probably have two Bolts. The MachE was $30,000 more than the Bolt and there is not a $30,000 difference between them. The ventilated seats are great! There is also less wind noise. Sure the MachE looks a little sexier but there is something super compelling about the Bolt EUV that keeps us chosing to drive it, leaving the MachE and Audi A5 at home. If you are on the fence about the Bolt, do it while you still can! It is a great size, super roomy inside, and well designed. Its really a shame that they are stopping production.
I have had my Bolt EUV for about six months now and love it. For our driving all around Ohio, it's been excellent. Our other car is a gasoline Mazda, and I haven't needed to use it at all since the EUV joined us. I'm up to 5000 miles on the Bolt, but only about 300 on the Mazda since last summer. That really speaks to how useful and enjoyable the Bolt is.
I owned a Volt, then a Bolt EV, and now a Bolt EUV Premier I loved them all but the EUV is the Best! Let's not forget the Price/Performance ratio! You simply can not buy a better EV for the Price... Period!
I just wanted to let you guys know after your review of the Chevy bolt EUV it was such a good review that I decided to get rid of my 2018 Toyota Mirai for a 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV LT just wanted to say thanks for reviewing this vehicle.
I just went from a Fiat 500e to a Bolt EUV premier without the sunroof or the super cruise. I've owned it now for three weeks. Took a 1,300 mile road trip and had 0 issues. The regen one pedal driving is absolutely great and makes for the around town trips economical. The car tends not to use up all the miles driven because of the regen. I miss my Fiat, but the range was horrible and the battery pack seemed to degrade quite rapidly only after about two years of use.
Good review! You saw what’s nice about the EUV and didn’t focus too much on what should have been improved. We got ours in early September. Took it on a trip from Tampa to Michigan in early November. It did great. About half the time the car was done charging before we were done eating. Other times, we needed to find something to do for a little bit, but it was nice to have a reason to stretch our legs for a bit and not be all stiff at the end of the day. For day to day driving, I can’t argue with 5 miles/kWh and it’s just a nice drive. Ours is the EUV Premier, so it has the 360 camera, ventilated seats, etc. as standard. We did not buy the Supercruise, which we’d rarely use and wouldn’t want to subscribe to after three years. Nor did we get the sunroof, aka the leak about to happen. It does have a few things I’d like improved, but all things considered, it’s the best car I’ve ever had. At almost 70 years of age, I’ve had more than a few.
Everything you wrote was true. I too have the Bolt EUV premier without the sunroof or super cruise. I took it on a 1,300 mile road trip and it was totally fine. Ate while it charged, charged in the morning outside our hotel room, stop at free charging stations at rest stops while my daughter and wife got to use the restrooms. Maybe a few times we waited a little longer to get a good charge, but that was fine. I really like this car. I'm coming from a Fiat 500e, so a huge difference.
Yup! And since then, we've taken it on a trip to Ohio and back. Then, in October we took it from here in Florida to Arizona, then from AZ to Ohio, and then home. Over 5,400 miles on that trip. @@davidgardner1067
I just purchased a 2022 GT performance today, and I love it. Got it from our local Ford dealership's owner. He bought it new and put 1480 miles on it. He has a garage full of vehicles and wanted to try out the Mock-E. They gave a discount so I jumped on it. I can't believe it happened as ordering new has a long waiting list. I live in a small community, so I'm basically the only Mock-E owner in our little village.
I own a Mach E and just rented a Bolt while on a trip. Nice little car. Not as fun as my Mach E, but it has a couple display features that I would like on my Mach E- instantaneous electrical consumption, and a gauge showing the amount of regeneration.
I lovd my EUV. One of the tricks I've learned in crawling freeway traffic is that I can engage the "active" cruise control and set it at 15 or 20 MPH and it will automatically stop and go without me having to work the gas or brake. I DO keep it in "one pedal" driving ALL the time, even on the freeway. The Bolts are an exceptional value and an excellent automobile. I prefer the higher stance of the Bolt. It's easy to get in and out of, and very comfortable. The smaller size makes it nimble and easy to manuever in city traffic, but it's big enough and well insulated enough that it is an excellent road car too. And it has FRONT WHEEL DRIVE which may not be great for "drifting" and other "sports" thing that RWD does, but FWD is much safer and more capable in questionable traction situations. GM's long history with EV's really pays off in these cars. Everything just works, and works well, without having to think about much. It is a great mix of regular switches and tech without being complicated or intimidating at all. You CAN remote start and precondition the Bolts. They also have OnStar, which automatically calls an ambulance if the air bags go off. GM has come light years since the horrible 80's when Roger Smith was gutting the company. Mary Barra has done such an excellent job of taking GM electric. I think GM will be outselling Tesla in 3 years. And given Elon Musk's ability to insert his feet into his mouth, it is possible that Tesla will go the way of Packard. The trunk storage can be expanded by putting the false floor into the bottom of the trunk well. Welcome to Southern CA !!
I bought an EUV a month ago. My first EV! Love this car. Love how much like a regular car it is. You guys described it perfectly … not intimidating at all… and with the availability of the federal tax credits it’s a financial no brainer
Can't personally speak to long-term durability, but the fit and finish seemed really good to me. In all honesty, better than the Model Y we rented for a few days. Not fancy, but well put together - Liv
I rented a Tesla Model 3 a few weeks ago and although I enjoyed the way it drove and it's performance but the deal breaker for me was the huge screen on the dash. I found it distracting and unsafe to try to use while driving. The Bolt has a more conventional dash with buttons, which I prefer. I am also considering a Aptera, but again the large screen with no normal dash is a real downer. I truly don't understand the direction cars are going both EV's and ICE with the "built in lap tops". Your review of the Bolt has strengthened my thoughts of buying one.
I'm in Northern Michigan and my first electric vehicle is the Bolt EUV premiere. I've had it for one year now. I love it and drive it 90 plus percent of the time. I charge at home exclusively. The bolt is king of the everyday driver. The DCFC infrastructure isn't ready in some parts of the country so for now the bolt is the best choice for price and daily driving in electric. I will say even when I do get another ev I would still want to keep the bolt for what I use it for now, everyday driving.
I'm retired and I live alone but close to my adult children. I have a 22 Bolt EUV and just love it. If I were still a road warrior I would look at something like the Mach E for it's faster charge times
I have friends here in NorCal that are picking up a new Bolt tomorrow from Delano in the central valley. They had to have a red one, and refused to pay more than MSRP. Apparently red is a rare color. They have me as their "standby person" for their drive up CA-99 and one charging stop I believe they will need on their way home.
One feature that was not mentioned is heated rear seats in Premier trim of Chevrolet Bolt EUV. For long legs teens sitting in the back the room is even higher than in Mach E. Since you have no kids to give a ride to school than maybe just EV version being cheaper might fit the needs for second car.
I own a Model Y Performance and my wife has a Model 3 Long-range. I am retired right now and drive for Uber because I can't watch TV the whole day. I have a 2023 Bolt EUV for my ride share business here in the southern California area, near Magic Mountain. The weather in Southern California and with 85% street driving, I average close to 300 miles on a full charge, and I am averaging 4.5 miles/kw. You can't beat the efficiency. If you are going to do any traveling with it, then a Model 3 Standard range is the best value by far, especially with the recent reduction of 1000 dollars, which now is 41,990 and if you get one before 4/18, you will qualify for the 7500 tax credit. The Tesla supercharger network is by leaps and bounds better than the other networks combined. You will definitely not go wrong with the EUV if you mainly use it as a commuter car. Enjoy!
@Mach-E VLOG Thanks. For example. The stated range of the EUV is 247. Last night, after 6 hours of Uber driving, my miles/kw was 4.8 miles/kw. After full charge charge, my maximum mileage guage was at 353 miles, and the middle was at 300. Not bad. I have the LT, with the safety package, comfort package, and the redline package, and the out the door price was 35,000, with the Tax incentive, which will be 27,500. I didn't care too much about the super cruise and / or the sun and sound package, as this is mostly a work vehicle. Keep up the great work 👍
In March I bought a used 2017 Bolt with a new battery for $22900. So with the $4000 used EV tax credit it was $18900. An added bonus is no sales tax on the first $16000 in Washington. I would have had to wait for who knows how long for a new Bolt and my tax incentive would have been the same in my tax bracket. I love driving this thing! I do wish it showed battery % of charge but with the grey and green lines on the GOM each being 5%, you can estimate it pretty well. Liv, I agree about the heated seats, on a bad back day it does feel good. You didn't mention it, did you try the rear view mirror camera?
Late to the game on this video but I agree a ton with Liv. I have a 2023 Bolt EUV Premiuer and I love it. I traded my Kia Niro Ev in for it because I wanted something a little smaller and easier to drive. My only real gripes with the Bolt/Bolt EUV are the ones you would expect: not much cargo space without folding the rear seats down, slow DCFC (although it does do up to 11.5kw AC charging), and it doesn't like cold weather much. I think the Bolts are great primary cars unless you are making frequent long road trips. The occasional road trip they are just fine. They charge slow but otherwise just fine. I live in Southern Oregon and have to make occasional trips to Portland which are about 200 miles each way and I have had zero issues with range or stopping for charging when I have had to make those trips. I have had no complaints/issues with build quality but I will also note that in the 12 months I have had this car (bought it in january 2023) I have only driven 5500 miles so I am also not driving my car a ton either. Great content and I do love your Mach-E.
Liv & Patrick: I had a Bolt for 3 years prior to the Mach E. I never had any problem with it (though the fire issue came up at about the time I was trading it in). It ran CarPlay well enough (if smaller than the MME). But I guess mostly it taught me that the 230 mile battery was all I needed....which, when I bought the MME, is the reason I opted for the standard battery. In 2017 when bought the Bolt 230 miles was a good number. I bought it when the only Model 3 out there was $65K and there were only a very few of those at the time). My only real complaint is that my hip ran into the console and made it so my spine was not in the center of the driver's seat...Of the 35 or 40 cars I've owned that was a first. So when the MME came along I was relieved that my spine was in the middle of the seat (again). But based on personal experience (about 45K miles) with the Bolt...no complaints, except as noted.
Thanks for sharing Jim! Sorry we missed this! Really interesting about the seating alignment on the Bolt. If I get to sit in one again, I'm definitely going to inspect that! - Liv
@@MachE_VLOG Liv, I think the problem was peculiar to me in a sense. The driver seat is made for a standard FAA approved 170 pound adult. I am not that so my hip ran into the center consul which is the reason my spine would not line up with the center of the seat, so I believe the seat has no problem at all for the standard FAA approved body.
I have a 2023 Bolt EUV LT and, as far as I know, there is no way to precondition the battery. Also, it's unfortunate that GM is planning to stop including Android Auto and Apple Car Play on this and other EVs. And I agree that it's a great vehicle - second or first, if a lot of long trips aren't needed.
I've been watching a few videos about the Bolt, and the general consensus seems to be that the Bolt is actually a pretty nice car. I actually like the styling; it looks "purposeful" and "solid", kind of like a modern day VW Golf. And the fact that you can get a huge sunroof that opens is a huge plus for me. As for the "middling" acceleration numbers, I owned a 2017 LIncoln MKZ with the 2.0 Ecoboost engine, which did 0-60 in about 7 seconds, and felt PLENTY powerful to me. If the Bolt is quicker, I'll bet it's a hoot to drive.
Great video! I owned a 2019 Bolt before my Mach-E and you can tell GM has definitely made many improvements since then. I'd definitely consider this if we needed a second vehicle. Even without the tax credit it's still a fantastic value. The one thing I really wish Ford had in blue cruise vehicles was the steering wheel lights. I don't think Ford does a good enough job of indicating the various states of Blue Cruise activity
I bought the new bolt EV. I actually love it. I do lots of driving. And my trips are like y'all's. No real hurry. And get to meet people at charging places. Get it if you can.
I had gotten a 2018 Bolt in February 2018. I had it for three years and really loved the car. You are correct in stating the only real issue with it. Is that DC fast charging speed which is of course only an issue if you’re doing road trips over 300 miles as the first charging stop is not really an issue it’s more of a matter of how many full meals can you eat every two hours 😅. I love the fact that you could put a trailer hitch on it, and I took a four bike carrier. I hear they improved the seats which I thought were OK in 2018 and I know that that has been addressed in 2020 or so so that people seem much more satisfied. Appreciate your review of this vehicle, will be interested to find out if you get this as a second car. At 20:45 do you speak of the alarm sound for the rear cross traffic alert. That I believe has three levels that can be sent through Settings.
Lots of fun with the Bolt EUV. However, if you can find a standard range Model 3 for a few more thousands - and while it’s still eligible for the tax credit - that would also be awesome 😊
that's awesome! So glad you're loving your Bolts!! A new car may not be in my price range for a while, so I miiiight have to go used...but I would honestly be so very happy with a Bolt! - Liv
I wish everyone were able to test drive these cars more regularly. Last fall, at least in Maine, I think wait times for a Bolt were 4-6 months, but they're closer to 10 months as of last time I checked last month. Wait times are similarly bad for most new EVs in the area. This means it's exceptionally hard to compare cars by how they feel on a test drive, and if you order one that comes in sooner than the other(s) you were considering, it's hard to decide between taking the earlier EV without even test driving the later one, or passing on the earlier one in hopes of liking the later one more. I wonder if that will mean more buyers' remorse and more cars ending up on used car markets sooner when people realize the car they have isn't the right one for them.
I agree, it's really hard to get seat time in new EV's and that can really impact the buying experience. We volunteered with Drive Clean Colorado quite a bit and they would have ride and drive events where people could test drive various EV's. It was really awesome to watch so many people get excited about it. I imagine this is something offered by other organizations elsewhere so I hope that provides a good option! - Liv
I don't care about acceleration in electric cars. I see a lot of reviewers mention it. There is plenty...What I care is the range, practicality and comfort. I have a Bolt EUV and I can tell you after 15 k miles (Lyft driver) with it that it lacks comfort...Otherwise, a very good car! I will buy it again? Definitely!
Bought a 2023 Bolt EUV yesterday and I'm enjoying the ride. I am able to charge for free (level 1 charging) on the Campus I work at. I've been charging it for almost 3 hours and have gained 68 miles of range, which is about how far I drive each week. I haven't used the one pedal yet, but have used the brake toddle on the steering wheel, which is nice. We have a new Kia Soul, which is what the wife will be driving, but the Bolt has better acceleration than the Kia. Even for the small size of the car, it has nice room inside. I'm only 5"9, so I have like 6 inches of head room.
Excellent choice in vehicle and we almost bought one for my wife but the dealer refused to order one and if he did it would be $5k markup! we ended up with a 23' Leaf!
I wish when they finally get around to coming out with this on their Ultra EV platform a few years from now, they keep everything the same but lift the rear roof height. Make it more flat going back. Thus increasing the rear headroom and storage
Such a cute car Liv! I can’t wait for you to get one. It would be great for you. So… I’m receiving my new GoPro Hero 10 from Amazon tomorrow and looking forward to getting use to it… you guessed it 😊 Practice Vlogging and getting a channel started. As you already know the Denver Auto Show is this month (April 12-16, 2023) and I tried vlogging with my iPhone back end of January for Philadelphia Auto Show and well the videos just didn’t come out the way I liked. You couldn’t hear me talk. I was wondering what wireless microphones you guys use? Thanks! Okay back to watching your vlog. 😊
Ah shoot sorry I missed this! We use the DJI wireless mics. They've been a game changer, even though we still have to edit the audio after. I don't honestly know if I can afford the Bolt right now...might have to go used...but I really would love one! - Liv
@@MachE_VLOG Liv, you’ll get what you want and affordable rate. May not be right now, but it’s in your darling future. You’re in the “House Poor” stage for the next few years. I will be there here soon enough. Chatting with Marlene last night and told me if we need help Les would be able to help with doing lighting. We are going to paint our garage floor with a glossy showroom type look and I wanna go with color changing LED Recessed lighting in the garage. 1 little LED recessed light isn’t going to light up the garage 😂. So going with 9 lights. Turn that garage into a showroom studio.
Definitely tops on my list. I’m just still stuck with ICE for road trips. 😢 Would love to drive the Mach E. But until we can, we have to have an ICE that can cover the distance. Once we can road trip the Mach E, that’s when I get to get an EV. And the Bolt makes total sense. Plus I think it’s cute. Maybe by then the charging will improve but honestly I don’t care. With easily 200 miles of range daily and overnight home charging, I don’t see an issue.
The weather strip around my sunroof came off on my 2022 Bolt EUV Premier that got back in December 22 and now the rear hatch is rattling with only 3700 miles on it.
EUV is nice just wish GM gave it faster charging but the whole bolt platform is capped at 55kW. Won’t see faster GM charging until more Ultium platforms come out
The Bolt is great. GM needs to keep it around. Give it a little speed bump on the DCFC and own the more affordable EV space in the US for the next 2 years while the competition tries to get cars into the marketplace. The Bolt is great even for regional travel where you might stop 1 time for a charge on your way to your destination. It is when you have to string together multiple stops to charge that the Bolt can be a drag. As long as you aren't in a hurry the Bolt can do it all. The Bolt is a great size and has been reasonably well refined over time. I don't think you could go wrong with the Bolt. GM is doing a subscription for the Supercruise. People need to be aware that after 3 years you will have to pay for Supercruise. Same thing with Onstar so be aware GM is after the subscriptions. Bolt is the best bang for the buck right now. Sorry to hear you moved to CA. I escaped CA a long time ago and glad I did!
I think that makes a good second vehicle. For my use, it is too small to be the only vehicle. I have many issues with GM, so I am unlikely to buy this from them in any case. I am one of those rare folks that do not like glass or holes in the roof. The fact that you can close the hole and glass off is a plus, but that doesn't make up for it being there in the first place. I would be totally happy with a Mach-e Select if you could get it with heated seats, My ideal car would be a Mach-e California Route 1 with a solid roof, but that is not possible.
This is good timing - I have a Mach-E GT and we have a Bolt EUV on order. The Bolt is to replace our 2016 LEAF, it seems like a good fit for our second EV. The comments were great, I could relate to a lot of what you say here. My wife prefers the ride and handling of her LEAF to my Mach-E, hopefully the Bolt will be similar in those aspects. I think she would relate to Liv's comments about it driving like a nice car that happens to be an EV, and flying under the radar. You had some good points about where the Bolt was better than the Mach-E.
We own a Mach E and our second car is a Ford C-Max Hybrid Plug in. We have owned it since it was new in 2016. We charge it using a 110 volt plug in our garage with a charge from 15 to 30 mile which does take several hours to charge. We only drive the C-Max around town and currently getting 196 miles per gallon, this mileage will go up some in the warmer weather. So this is an alternative to a pure electric and the way we drive it I figure we only use about 50 gallons of gasoline per year.
I am considering getting one next year. I haven’t decided to go with the Bolt or a Model 3 long range, but the price of the bolt is leaning me in that direction.
In 23, have the seats finally become comfortable? The big problems are the charge speeds and FWD driving. Model 3 better charging network more storage faster charging and more range. Base model just 2k more
Hard to say. I've checked out some Bolt forums and I don't see any red flags with people reporting lots of problems. There has even been discussions about why the rating is low and Bolt owners seemed stumped.
Ah hm....I don't honestly know, since we can't test that right now. But I imagine you could set the hatch to default lower so it shouldn't be a problem. - Liv
@@MachE_VLOG Awesome! Im in LA! Keep me in mind if you guys ever plan anything. I'll keep you guys in mind too. I work at a Chevy dealer and I have a EV Silverado on order ;)
Oh my gosh that's awesome! Hey we're having a meetup this Saturday!! You should come! If you can :) machevlog.com/southern-california-ford-ev-meetup/ We were in contact with a Chevy dealer in LA when we were originally trying to get a Bolt! - Liv
Hey Patrick and Liv, congrats on your move to SD! The monitoring device for driver attention in the Bolt EUV is on top of the steering column, not to the left/right of the indicator bar on the steering wheel. Just a heads up, nice overview!
Liv I hope you get a bolt I have been watching TH-cam videos since 2016 about it . I follow newscolumb in california he loves his 2017 bolt he has had it 6 years over 100,000 miles and he goes everywhere. Plug and play ev is a great youtuber who had 2 bolts and loved it and drove it 4,000 miles and back for fully charged live in Austin texas. He regularly drove from Boston to Cleveland to see family. He got a ionic 5 not because he didn’t like his 2 bolts his kids were getting bigger and he needed a larger car. He did like the faster charging but that never stopped him his wife and kids from traveling thousands of miles. Although I know you will be doing mostly city . Go bolt Go.
Oh my gosh sorry I missed this! Steve from Plug and Play EV is a big reason I got interested in the Bolt originally!! He's so chill and informative and he clearly enjoyed his Bolt. Newscolumb too! Great dude! Unfortunately I'm not sure if I can afford the Bolt at the moment, but it's 100% top of my list. Both practicality and looks are important to me and it has both, so its a win for sure! Thanks Mark! - Liv
I pick the bolt over mustang I like the personality of it It’s fun to drive Small and simple to park Plus I don’t trust mustang in reliability I had two fords and problems
At 9:45 she states the bolt isn’t as fast as a Mustang Mach E Gt…she is incorrect. My friend has the Mustang Mach-E GT and I have a Bolt. My Bolt is definitely faster right off the line. Maybe 0-30moh. His Mach E feels “relatively” sluggish. Bolt is more agile and has much better regeneration and one pedal driving experience
Interesting... I just checked some drag slip times between Bolts and Mach-E GTs and in every case the GT was quicker at every mark - 60 feet, 330 feet, 660 feet, 1/8 mile etc. And what Mach-E drive mode are you comparing the Bolt to? I did really enjoy the Bolt's one pedal driving mode.
I don’t understand… Why is percentage more important than miles. If you are driving home let’s say and you are 10 miles away and the car says you can travel 30 -50 miles isn’t that the info you need. If home is 10 miles away and you have 2% battery that tells you nothing.
While the Bolt EV and EUV seem like nice cars, I’d be very leery of them. I’ve owned several GM vehicles over the years: A ’65 Corvair, ’95 S15 GMC Jimmy, a ’04 Saturn Vue, and finally a ’16 Malibu hybrid. I did want a Volt but the car was just too small for my 6’4” frame. The original Bolt was too small outright. However, GM quality has seriously gone downhill. I do hope Mary Barra can turn things around but would not trust the Bolt over more than two years. My Malibu had major engine failures before three years, the trim was falling apart in multiple places, and the seats were losing support. I sold it to get the Mach-e, which is MUCH better built.
Plug and play ev on TH-cam had a 2017 and 2020 bolt premiere. He never had. A problem with them. He drove from Boston to Austin and Boston to Michigan and ohio Pennsylvania. Also Eric way who lives in california. He uses newscolumb on TH-cam as his name. It is his main car and he had driven top to bottom in California and to Vegas and Arizona. Nice guy he knows everything about batteries and the bolt and charging. He even got to meet tesla Bjorn Nyland from Norway when Bjorn was here for a Tesla event. I love the bolt you can’t compare it to other gm cars.
talking about quality, i have driven bolt ev for 4 years and recently changed to euv, never had any mechenical problem, except previous 2018 ev's infotainment screen occasionally got frozen. but euv never have that problem. i heard mach-e's radio/software has some issues. i think in terms of ev, gm has more experience.
I have a 2017 Malibu hybrid and it is by far the best car I have ever owned. 43 miles per gallon lifetime, nothing has gone wrong with it, gorgeous aesthetically very comfortable to drive on long trips, the perfect car as far as I am concerned. I also just got a 2022 Bolt EUV and love it. I agree completely with the review.
@@lynxone7039 So, mine had the following issues. First, the car would make this horrible grinding noise when under engine load. The chevy dealership said, "that's just how it works". My sons used to think it was funny. Second, I rarely got above about 35 MPG. Granted, that wasn't bad mileage compared to my 2006 Avalanche, which got about 14 MPG, but not what I expected. Third, the car accelerated VERY slowly. Now, I don't expect race car speed, but something better than a Prius. Fourth, the car developed a head gasket leak at around 80,000 miles. I had this fixed under warranty. My mechanic said this was an issue he'd seen regularly with the Ecotec engines. I'm very happy with my Mach-e, which replaced the Malibu hybrid. Now, I woudn't mind a 1969 Chevelle Malibu with a 350 and a five-speed swap. But, that's for another time.
Please consider GM's history of opposition to California's right to set its own air pollution control regulations (contrast to Ford) before purchasing a GM product, now that you are Californians. Our MME purchase was specifically to reward Ford for being on the right side of history in that regard.
Euv only have production for this Yr after 2024 chevrolet no going to make no more chevrolet introduced blaser eletric and 2 more line of cars but electric and goin to used this platafor
I understand you are fascinated by EVs as am I. However wherever ICE car you owned in Colorado must have been compliant with California emissions at the time of sale. According to grand father law your vehicle should be exsempt of new emissions requirements for California thus should be allowed to get registered in the state. Only in Japan and Singapore the emissions have to be uptodate thus most older than 5 years old cars get exported since they naturally do not meet emissions anymore. Conclusion: you simply got tired of your ICE so you decided to part ways with it. I can not blame you!
And as for me, Liv, the owner of said car. Nope. It was a ‘98 RAV4 that was my sole vehicle for 17 years. I loved it and didn’t want to get rid of it. - Liv

I owned a Volt, then a Bolt EV, and now a Bolt EUV Premier I loved them all but the EUV is the Best! Let's not forget the Price/Performance ratio! You simply can not buy a better EV for the Price... Period!
Used model 3.
I just wanted to let you guys know after your review of the Chevy bolt EUV it was such a good review that I decided to get rid of my 2018 Toyota Mirai for a 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV LT just wanted to say thanks for reviewing this vehicle.
Aw that's great to hear! I hope you love it! I know I would! - Liv
That's awesome! Congratulations! Hope you love it! - Liv
Dirty little secret.
The Bolt does show percentage of charge inside the My Chevrolet App on the Info screen
We have a model 3 and a Mach E, however I think the Bolt EUV is probably the best value EV out there.
I own a Mach E and just rented a Bolt while on a trip. Nice little car. Not as fun as my Mach E, but it has a couple display features that I would like on my Mach E- instantaneous electrical consumption, and a gauge showing the amount of regeneration.
I agree. I owned a Bolt for 3 years before the Mach E and I miss those two features.
I added a Bolt to my Lightning. It’s a great car! Build quality is superb.
You can still take a bolt on a long road trip just as long as you plan to stop for a five course dinner in between charging stops
Or eat slowly! Or add in a long walk :) Or hula hoop! - Liv
Thank you Edward! - Liv
Since you have no kids to give a ride to school than maybe just EV version being cheaper might fit the needs for second car.
ooh great addition about the heated rear seats! Thanks for sharing! And totally, I think we would be well-suited to the EV! - Liv
Enjoy!
Dang that’s great range! And you’re such a good use case! - Liv
Keep up the great work 👍
As long as the assist button to the right of traction control is left on, you can simply press the Super-Cruise button to turn it on.
I love my Bolt EUV Lt; it's efficient and a great commuter, and I'm surprised at the excellent build quality.
I always use the steering wheel volume control, but I've never had an issue with the position of volume dial. The center display is also 10.2", not 7.
We completely neglected to try the rear view mirror camera and I'm bummed about it! Sorry! So glad you love your Bolt! - Liv
Hmmm…I would certainly consider buying the Bolt EV to replace my Ford Escape.
Thanks James! This is awesome to hear. The Bolt sounds perfect for you! - Liv
I wouldn't pay the $38K for a Bolt EUV, but an entry level Bolt EV would be a very good second car or a commuter car.
Bolt EUV very good car, 32k and with incentives in the 20k
Exactly the 2 vehicles we have - love it!
That's awesome! Congrats on two sweet rides! - Liv
We love our two Bolts. Great commuter and great car for my son when he started driving. Hope you guys get one soon.
that's awesome!
- Liv
Great to hear an opinion of the Bolt EUV from a Ford owner. Glad you loved it!
Oh and love they Shirt Patrick!!!
Definitely!
Im with you, if you have enough range thats all you need. And nobody who is not racing needs 0 to 60 of 3.whatever seconds. The price is important.
Do thing about removable e-bike batteries is that you can remove you can take to battery inside the bathroom and charge it
Bought a 2023 Bolt EUV yesterday and I'm enjoying the ride.
Love this! This is so great to hear! You're literally perfectly suited to this lovely little EV. Congrats!! - Liv
Love the Bolt EV and EUV. I think it would make a great second car for you both....and welcome to California.
Thank you!
Excellent choice in vehicle and we almost bought one for my wife but the dealer refused to order one and if he did it would be $5k markup! we ended up with a 23' Leaf!
I would have one now if they hadn’t insisted on a 4k markup! - Liv
Did you like the heated back seats? How about the camera rear view mirror (It’s great when people in the back seat block the rear view)
Regrettably 2 things we completely neglected to investigate! Thanks for pointing out those features! - Liv
I am so excited. I just bought a Bolt euv lt.I love it 🎉🎉🎉
that's awesome! Congratulations! - Liv
@@MachE_VLOG I went with the Hollyland Wireless Microphone it sounds the same and fraction of the price for beginners. Even has the wind-muff.
Love the Bolt EUV great vehicle and larger size
If you just click the roof buttons, they'll function without holding them in. Let me know if you preferred the matte or the glossy screen protector.
I think if they would give the interior a slight refresh and improve the charging to 150kw or higher at that price then it would be a heavy contender.
150 would be fab! - Liv
I could definitely see you in this down the line. And me too! Maybe we will meetup in Bolts!! - Liv
The weather strip around my sunroof came off on my 2022 Bolt EUV Premier that got back in December 22 and now the rear hatch is rattling with only 3700 miles on it.
Oh no! I hope that's an easy, quick fix! - Liv
The Bolt EUV is not a perfect car . . . but it's as close to it as one can be. Those insufferables who can't help picking nits are to be avoided.😊
Mach-E and a Mini Cooper SE are the perfect combo. Yes, I am biased cause I have one of each.😀
Haha I would be SO happy with that! Congrats on your sweet stable! - Liv
My sister is on a wait list for a Bolt EUV. It's been a couple months and still waiting for an allocation. They're hard to find around here!
Ugh man in demand everywhere!! Exciting for her though and worth the wait I'm sure! - Liv
Excited to be away from ice, cold, and snow half the year! It's super not handicapped friendly! Where did you end up? - Liv
@@MachE_VLOG I bounced all over the country when I left CA and settled down in the Ozarks. I agree I don't miss the CO weather! :)
Great video! One question, what does “EUV” stand for?
Electric Utility Vehicle
I am considering getting one next year. I haven’t decided to go with the Bolt or a Model 3 long range, but the price of the bolt is leaning me in that direction.
I love my Bolt ⚡
In 23, have the seats finally become comfortable? The big problems are the charge speeds and FWD driving. Model 3 better charging network more storage faster charging and more range. Base model just 2k more
Does the basic adaptive cruise control hold you centered in the lane?
No, it doesn't.
Bolts makes a great primary or only vehicle
Why do you think Consumer Reports indicate a reliabilty "far below average"? for both bolts.
Hard to say. I've checked out some Bolt forums and I don't see any red flags with people reporting lots of problems. There has even been discussions about why the rating is low and Bolt owners seemed stumped.
Each alternating shade of green is 5% on the range indicator...this car was at around 75% during your video.
LOL, love her already! Good review.
Loved the review
thanks Candace! - Liv
Would be a good daily driver and a good compliment to your Mach E just saying
I agree!

- Liv
Lots of bolts and Volts and Teslas at my work. 😂 I am the solo Mach E :)
A great companion to this would be gasoline car. Maybe a Honda Pilot, Sequoia, Tacoma, Minivan.
I pick the bolt over mustang
I like the personality of it
It’s fun to drive
Small and simple to park
Plus I don’t trust mustang in reliability
I had two fords and problems
The Bolt is a great car for around town -- especially for the price. Our Mach-E has been perfect and this is actually our second one.
Cool video, you guys are cool
Just wanted to add that the build quality of the 2017 Malibu hybrid is superb, with extremely comfortable seats that have not worn or lost support.
Charging your Eevee is that going to the river and picking up buckets of water
Only if you have a river in your garage. :-)
Check the pear out
I have a reservation for one! - Liv
Please consider GM's history of opposition to California's right to set its own air pollution control regulations (contrast to Ford) before purchasing a GM product, now that you are Californians. Our MME purchase was specifically to reward Ford for being on the right side of history in that regard.
Nah, perfect companion is a Rivian R1T. I know a ridiculous number of people whose garage is Mach-E + Rivian R1T.
When a ford guy comes out
What do you mean? - Liv

Bolt is NOT AROAD TRIP CAR. The MachE is barely a road trip car. Good that you’ve gotten rid of your ICE vehicles.
It is for some people. And the Mach-E is perfectly fine for road trips. We've done lots!
Nope. Check engine light was on. In Colorado, that just got us a warning. In California, that is an automatic fail.
And as for me, Liv, the owner of said car. Nope. It was a ‘98 RAV4 that was my sole vehicle for 17 years. I loved it and didn’t want to get rid of it. - Liv
@@MachE_VLOG So you decided not to open the Pandora box by trying to repair the warning light inducing problem at an independent mechanic? It looks you like hate gambling!
@@nevco8774 Haha, Liv tried to get it repaired years ago and the mechanic said it wasn't worth it.
@@MachE_VLOG And that is all mighty unbreakable Toyota? Or that is what THEY say?
