Willie, I think I might have figured that reel out! It was engineered to keep fish markets in business! Maybe they should have named it " The Auto Twitcher C2000", anyway, I enjoyed the video, take care and be safe!
That fog on the water the trees.. that is beautiful out there. And the blues that is a good tune. It would be neat to see the lure action underwater with and without the switch on. Im with ya on the the coffee comment.
@@chadlake3590 It was extremely cool to drive the golf cart through the fog. The entire campground was like that.. but I knew I needed to catch some fish so I headed towards the lake.. the fog there was just starting to fade away.. I’m glad you liked the music.. I enjoyed playing that one.. wish I would’ve made it longer.. Thanks for watching!
@ Haha 🤣, Thanks so much! I think🤔 .. 😂, I’ve been playing music since I was 12.. Grew up with The Almond Brothers, BB King, Albert King, Stevie Ray, Sam Cooke, Marshall Tucker, and everything in between.. started out as a drummer playing out in bands at the age of 12. Then started playing the guitar in high school.. Can’t imagine what my life would’ve been like without musical instruments being part of it.. 95% of the music on the channel is me or me and my son playing together .. makes the channel more personal.. 😉
@@davidkeller491 I agree, heavier line will probably slow that evil process.. I don’t believe it’ll completely stop but due to the larger diameter it might have kept it from doing it as frequently. Sadly, it’s just not a great reel.. it was a physical reminder of the end being near..😞
Yeah, I had one back in the day. Terrible reel. Constantly tangled inside, especially if you turn on the pulse. BTW, have you ever used one of the reels that had depth control? Zebcos I think. Made for vertical jigging crappie. They were designed with a mechanism that could be flipped on when you found the proper depth so that they would repeatedly let only that much line out. Hated those too, BTW.
@@lastboomer. 🤠Hey there, Sadly it really just shows the downward spiral of a company that actually started out with good ideas. Had they stuck with the Century and Citations basic design and used some better metals I believe things may have been different for Johnson. The fishing equipment industry has always had its share of gimmicks and there will be plenty more to come.. most of them aren’t going to catch on to an actual fisher-person.. they’re temporary sales that bring in enough profit to do something else silly that will basically repeat the process.. For some companies like Johnson, the end was near and for others like Zebco, they made enough off the primary line to afford to take some hits on gimmicks and cheaper more inexpensive equipment.. I’ve never tried the depth control reels.. I’m always looking out there at the flea markets and antique stores for the “off the wall” stuff as well as the good stuff.. if I see something, I generally look it up on my phone right there on the spot. If it’s worthy and in my price range, I’ll pick it up..

Pretty lake out there off of that dock
@@GaryB94558 It can be both beautiful and ugly.. when a storm comes through, the wind and rain makes for a rough day of fishing..
FYI sound is movement of the air molecules which is is detected by the eardrum.. eventually 😂

If you use heaver line on the Johnson reels they are less prone to have the line go under the spools

Interesting reel, but it's no surprise this amazing advanced technology didn't stand the tests of time.😂

I think when you turn the pulse on, the fisherperson is forced into a jumping up and down routine
@@GaryB94558 That happens when you catch something with it rather the pulse is on it not😂.
