This is a great one. Takes a bit to get going, but then ... wow. Watch it live on "all you deserve" dvd. This would be what it would have been like in the 1750's listening to Mozart for the first time.

This song is about the serial killer BTK (Bind, Torture, Kill) and it is written from the point of view of the killer. I always imagine that the more «playful» parts of the song represent the moments he would play with the victims before killing them. Pretty dark song but it is a masterpiece IMO.

Thank you so much for doing this one. It's from my favorite Steven Wilson album. This was the first Steven Wilson album I bought 😉

Check out the live video version. The visual dynamics and performance by the band members make this even more special. There's something lacking when it's just audio, in my opinion. Steven really plays up the serial killer role in his delivery and Nick Beggs the bassist looks so cool. The song is as much a visual performance as it is an aural one.

I like it! It sounds like the son of King Crimson's "Cirkus", with lyrics from In Absentia.

Really cool you liked this on a first listen 😊, to me it was very challenging at first because it was “messy” to me, but I guess it was because I found it too complex to quite get it and often these kind of songs end up being even more special to you. Now I love it. Btw think you are the first to react to this SW song, so really appreciate it 😃

It's just one guy playing the flute and sax. I think he played with SW on the earlier, more ambient PT albums.

I love this track. I love it also as it's a wonderful homage to early King Crimson. Definitely wearing it on his sleeve here.
