The ending was right up there with Aces death in one piece. Code geass will forever be my favorite anime. Back when I watched it in 2015 I was upset for a long time. Id never watched something so emotional in my life.

It's the best showing of Lelouch's character I think.. he held all that power, and yet he decided to do just that: create a new and better world.

I'm at a lost of words. It's been forever since I watched Code Geass but this made me feel like I binged it all over again just to watch the very last episode. My emotions came up as I got chills.❤

@@jewps4701 unfortunately, the first three are just basically a recap, and the fourth one is not canon. There’s also a spin-off, I didn’t like it because no lelouch
And he did all that just to create a better world for his sister. My tears fall at that scene where Nunally scream after she realised Lelouch true plan all along. And also, when Suzaku tears falls behind his mask.

Lelouch said it, his dream wasn't for his own or just for Nanally. His dream was long to share as he sacrificed the world. He couldn't walk any farther and eliminate his emotions, without the realization of sacrificses he forged with blood.
Lelouch and Suzaku paid the debt of their sins for killing their fathers and the world. Lelouch's punished himself to death for he wanted to live with Nunnaly and Suzaku's punishment was a life of servitude to the world for he wanted death to escape his guilt.
I thought lelouch ressurected in the movie, was it non cannon? theres a mpvie where lelouch resurrect and regain his memories and C.C and lelouch travel far away to not discovered by britannians
@@hannahchuchu7333 The movie and the anime episode were 2 different route. Same as Shirley still alive in the movies meanwhile she died in the series.

Code Geass is an absolute masterpiece and there isn't a better end than Code Geass's end. Lelouch will stay my favourite character forever, ALL HAIL LELOUCH

This made me remember that Code Geass was a masterpiece! And even if many people hate it just because of the main character dying, I still love it! That's just the beauty of the anime for me! The way they portrayed lelouch throughout the anime, and his death was just AMAZING!!

the feeling of the last episode will never not hit hard, it’s timeless.
Repeating myself for last time, there will never be a better anime or ending in anime history. Code geass is just that one thing that happened and will never be repeated. The pute emotions and joyous ride and sadness and sorrow we felt at R2 ending sas mesmerising.
Yeah it's depressing that I've never found anything close to Code Geass. It's a masterpiece in storytelling for sure.

@@pierrotzzz Both great yes. Especially FMA/FMAB. It definitely comes close. But Code Geass just has that little extra; the way Lelouch and Suzaku mirror each other (Lelouch wants to live, Suzaku wants to die; and yet the story ends opposite to that). The way the story actually ends as Lelouch wanted it. Also to me most of Code Geass' characters are pretty much perfectly written. I'm definitely biased though lol.
I just want to erase my memories of this anime so I will rewatch it again and cry again😭

He gave us hints in the second season. He had no desire to win. He spared Schneizel's king.
And in the end, playing both villain and hero, both sides of the same coin. He annihilated the world's hatred
So it could heal, and be reborn anew...
This makes me wonder, did Lelouch wince behind his mask as his plan came to completion
Or was it a face of determination to see his genius come to its dramatic conclusion.
He smiled just like he said that one should die with a smile.

Although it has been 6years since the last time I rewatched Lelouch, the very second when I played this music,all the memories hit me like one bullet in the head and blew up with those plots.
When I watched code geass for the first time after finishing r2 I couldn't stop crying for a whole day, anyway amazing video c:

Edit: Some nice suggestions in the comments. In terms of endings, second best to Code Geass would be definitely FMAB. The weight of emotions and choices in FMAB ending. Choosing to sacrifice your own strength because you have the strength of your comrades. I can’t even begin to explain the emotional significance of this lesson.
I just remembered HxH, it technically hasn’t ended, but Ant Arc ending, my god. The emotional weight and significance of the lesson in Meruem’s way of death. Exquisite.
Nevertheless I still have to put Code Geass first. He significance of Lelouch’s sacrifice, Suzaku’s Curse, Kallens understanding, C2’s renewed vigor, what it all means for the world. Is still much more. Imo

For real!! People always think I'm crazy when I tell them that he was literally Jesus in an anime. The whole plan and the way he "died" literally made me cry because no one but Sazuko (I think that's his name?) appreciated it and the whole scene itself was just *chef's kiss*. I'm about to go watch that ep again...🥲

I love how well he chose his words when he said „I destroy the world and create a more peaceful/harmless one“ he didn’t say that he would create a peaceful world or a harmless one he said "more" because he knew even his gigantic sacrifice that made the WHOLE world be United and be "one" wouldn’t be enough to make it harmless/peaceful that’s why he said he just wants to make it "more" harmless/peaceful for his sister

My brother got me hooked to this show while I was watching Naruto shippiden and said the story was as if Sasuke wasn’t stopped in his rampage for revenge and I was like “that sounds awesome!” When I finished the show he said “I told you sasuke but it’s really the tragic story of itachi in a show from” and I couldn’t thank him enough for that
You've got a point, but it's worth remembering that Sasuke's final plan was essentially the same as Lelouche's, to make Naruto into a martyr and shoulder all the hatred of the world onto himself. And (pls don't hurt me) Sasuke's plan was honestly even better thought out than Lelouche's, since he would remain alive forever to maintain the state of the world. Any time some nation wanted to start some shit, he would be able to scare everyone straight, as it were.
Not to say Lelouche didn't think his plan through, as he had Suzaku take up the mantle of Zero to maintain the state of the world.

Almost 10 years since I watched the show but this still sends chills down my spine and fills my eyes with tears
I was thinking this back when I first watched season 1 which was also one of my very first 15-20 anime, and I continue to believe this after having more than 1300 anime under my belt 16 years later. My belief only becomes stronger with each new one I watch regardless of how good it may be.
NOTHING will ever come close to this masterpiece. Code Geass is and will continue to be the Greatest Anime of ALL Time, with the greatest main character ever, and the best ending of any story ever.
